Can you please tell everyone that ALL of these phones have expedited shipping already? I know the prefer says Standard, but no one is getting Ground.

That is correct. Actually every product from Apple ships expedited. All iPhones are Expedited. I delivered a MacBook Pro the other day and the label was also Expedited. People need to relax. Shipping is coming as fast as possible.

Now I'm really in panich

WHY ONLY ME

:(:(:(:(:(:(

Probably cuz you're still a good bit behind in the Oct 1 - Oct 6 list seeing as you ordered 3 hours after page went live. I ordered probably within 30 minutes of it going live. It should change for you within a few hours barring any issues with your payment method.

You have to think of it as how they are processing these.

There is a queue of 4 million people

1. They receive confirmation that there are say 300,000 iPhones ready to go on the next shipment out of China.

2. They break it down to each model, color, gigabyte and carrier.

3. They then move down the queue filling those 300,000 phone from the different categories.

3. Queue filled, statuses change to preparing for shipment

5. The phones arrive to the shipping ware house in zhenzu or however you spell it. They pull the phones off the pallet one by one scanning them and assigning them to the queue. Once scanned the phone/serial number is assigned to your apple profile, your card is charged and the phone is then packaged and assigned a tracking number.

That's pretty much how it has to go...

well i ordered only lets see 2:14 am so 2 hours 14 min for first phone and nearly 2 hrs and 45 min for 2nd phone and I got mine prepared for shipment.

Really? I did not know that it comes that fast from China… I live in Las Vegas so i would be getting it 2-3 days after it arrived into the USA. Still not long to wait… We almost have our phones people...:D

Yep, they all ship by 747 cargo jet, and the daily flight from China (usually Shenzen to Shanghai), then to the US customs point in Anchorage is about 14 hours. They sit in Anchorage for a while while they clear customs, then they move to UPS's Louisville (or Memphis for Fedex) distribution hub.

Cool Thanks for that info. :D

Maybe the changed everyone to "Preparing for Shipment" so that they could lock us out of canceling our orders if we get our phones in a store tomorrow...

Not likely. The whole process is mostly automated and very intricate. They don't have the leeway to play games like that.

That could be true, and smart for Apple to do that for them that is. Bad for you if you were going to the Apple Store to TRY to pick one up live at the store.

Reading people's posts on different threads at least one thing's clear- there's no way we're getting our iPhones any later than the 25th of Sept.

I've seen this written a few times and I just dunt get the logic behind it. Why would they care if you cancelled your order? 1. There's a million people waiting to take your cancellation, so no loss there. 2. If they have droves of people being turned away at stores they'll spin it to say, "Look! The demand for our product is insane!"

I don't think they are pulled off the pallet. I'm pretty sure the pallet has a barcode that knows what iPhones are on the pallet, and that is scanned and the orders are updated. I remember reading about how FEDEX does this Apple shipments on launch days.

If they are pulling phones off pallets and scanning them by hand, it will take them the rest of the year to scan and ship.

Not all are shipped by 747, some by 777
