Even Amazon's cutoff for next day orders is in like 3:30 hours so unless you get shipping tracking before that and the phone is actually in the US at the time I doubt it.
This is the key. IF there was a chance for 9/19 delivery we'd most likely have tracking numbers (or at least be able to track by Reference numbers) today.
I don't necessary think he's lying to us, however. The Apple rep very well could have said that. I'm sure customer reps get some laughs out of things like this.

The red flags with this post are:
1. First time post.
2. Appeals to very anxious and impatient purchasers.
3. Makes a claim that has never occurred before.
4. Makes a claim that contradicts UPS and Fed Ex policy- If these items had shipped UPS and Fed Ex would have sent tracking info.
In short, if you believe this without any other corroborating facts and accept hearsay than you are likely to believe your iPhone will be delivered by an Umpaloompa.
Don't let someone get your hopes up just for kicks.
I live in Los Angeles and I don't remember any of my orders going through all those pit stops. I think time-wise, some of my orders got to me like 20 hours from leaving China. But shipments don't go from China directly to your house. They go from Shenzen to Shanghai, to Anchorage, wait a few hours to clear customs, then to the distro point in Louisville. Then possibly to another distro point depending on where you live (e.g., Northeast is Harrisburg). That all takes more than one day.
Oct 1-6 delivery date..... just switched to "Preparing for Shipment" .... yay, now the mantra from sister "is it shipping yet" will end..... *waves at sister who is probably reading this now*
ETA: charge pending on credit card.... and my sister think it will be here next Tuesday and she isn't happy.... just for that I'm holding hers until Oct 7..
Why would I waste my time getting on the phone with Apple in order to confirm something I think is bogus. The onus is on you to provide the evidence to support your claim, not on me to. In any case Apple will be contacting me once the phone has shipped, as they have done ever since they enabled online ordering.
If you have any proof to support what you're saying then please provide it instead of making unfounded comments.
Extraordinary claims require require extraordinary evidence.
As mentioned many times - If you are getting a phone tomorrow it will be listed in your support profile:
http://supportprofile.apple.com
If you are in the US, it will most likely be listed under UPS.com, Tracking > Track by Reference, then enter the primary telephone number for the account.
I will say this...If this was indeed happening you can bet your ass you would at least be able to track by reference by now....There's no way it would be expected to be on your doorstep tomorrow and it not be in the UPS/FEDEX system as of 3:15 Eastern Time....It just doesn't work like that...

If the iPhones are already in the United States, this is most certainly possible. You can go order something from Amazon.com right now with overnight delivery. You won't receive your tracking number until late into the evening, and you'll get it bright and early tomorrow.
The story itself is extremely extraordinary and hard to believe. The lack of tracking numbers is not a smoking gun.

Half my Apple stuff -- including my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 -- aren't listed there.
I placed my order for an iphone 6+ 64G space gray but I don't see any updates on either my credit card or my order. My order was placed at around 2:20am PST. Are any of you who have gotten "prepared for shipments" in this criteria and also on ATT?
I just signed up here to post for the first time.
Just got off the Phone with Apple, again, and the guy told me they're trying to surprise as many people as possible. He said most likely everybody in the Oct 1-6 boat will get their iPhones tomorrow, and they're shipping tonight from the US with free Expedited Service. So I hope that we're all happy tomorrow morning when UPS knocks on our doors. That is all the "preparing for shipment" status.
Good luck!
Who cares about Amazon cut-off? This is an APPLE LAUNCH, they have a contract that will make UPS work 24 hours a day for a month. Just for them. You really think they are cut-off times during an Apple launch???
I hate to see people play with people who are waiting for positive feedback and just sitting ducks waiting for someone to pull something like this. It happens every year they get your hopes up and then you are let down hard. I would love to see something like this but don't really think it will happen. If you believe it - you will be in for a huge let down.
That being said, if it did happen (odds are 10-1 against) it would be Early Christmas indeed!!!
