My order
64GB 6+ Space Gray
Apple.com
Processed at 4:54 AM EST 1:54 AM PST (After 2 Hours of trying)
... switched to "Preparing for Shipment" today as well ... And I have a pending charge for the Tax amount from Apple.com .... wish I hadn't seen this though ... now I'm gonna end up checking like crazy hoping for a tracking number the rest of the day.

I'm guessing Sat - Tuesday is a probable window for this ... (Assuming Apple has an agreement for Saturday Delivery)

So I just checked UPS and when I put in my number under reference code and mail innovations something now shows up but no details? Any one know what this means?

My husband has confirmation his is coming on 9/19 and he has the same info under mail innovations. Mine I ordered from apple with a oct 1-6 date.

Maybe tomorrow is a possibility?

How are you putting your number in? Just like: 1234567890 or 123-456-7890?

Always possible. All it means at this time is a label has been printed but has not shipped yet. Many factors will determine when it may arrive, such as when it transitions to UPS and where the package currently is being processed. In US then likely but overseas probably not given the long flight time.

It's not about not having a tracking number....It's about not being in the system at all...

I've seen my wife's phone w/ 9/19 delivery by using UPS track by reference 3 days before I ever got a shipping notification w/ a tracking number from :apple:

My point is if it was going to be on your doorstep tomorrow you would at minimum be able to track by reference using your phone number or see it in your support profile by now....You are only setting yourself up for disappointment if you tell yourself otherwise...

I'm not going to be disappointed because I have absolutely no expectation of receiving my phone tomorrow. I'm not getting my hopes up now. If I beat the estimated dates from Apple, I'll be perfectly happy.

I'm just saying that the lack of a UPS tracking number is not a smoking gun. It doesn't prove anything.

  1. This launch is bigger than any launch Apple has done before. Saying, "Apple hasn't done it that way in the past," isn't 100% proof of how Apple will behave THIS time around. Past performance is not proof of future performance.
  2. UPS / FedEx are not the only carriers on the planet who can ship iPhones from China to the United States.
  3. There is no rule that says iPhones must have tracking numbers assigned before they are shipped from China to the United States.
  4. There is no rule that says iPhones must have tracking numbers assigned while they are staged at warehouses within the United States.
  5. There is no rule that says iPhones cannot be shipped as one single palette unit to be broken down later.
  6. UPS and FedEx are both entirely capable of delivering product overnight, even product received much later in the day today. Amazon routinely hands over product to UPS between 8 PM and 10 PM local time for overnight delivery the next day.
  7. It is entirely within the realm of probability that Apple has palettes of iPhones being broken down at warehouses throughout the United States, where the workers are creating and printing tracking labels as we speak. Apple could hand those now-broken down palettes of iPhones to the carriers extremely late today and still have them delivered tomorrow.

Do I think there are warehouses where workers are feverishly creating and assigning UPS labels right now? I don't know if it IS in fact happening, but to claim that something is "impossible" or "definitely not happening" is not accurate.

I just called a rep to ask what's going on and the rep says that the card charging just a pending charge and will probably fall back off my account until they are actually going to ship. Then he literally read me what was already on my order status page and offered no insight whatsoever. He said I would have my phone by October 6.... :/

I and this problem... As well last week.w hat I did to fix this was I called my bank and ask the. For a approval code to give the apple rep... It should be solve after that.

My bank couldn't understand why it wasn't going through. They had no explanation. I just called Apple and it turns out that the customer rep was able to authorize the payment, it just wouldn't work when I tried to do it. Not sure why, must be because the rep has more authority in the system and was able to authorize the payment.

So relieved and happy it got fixed without my shipping date being changed. The guy on the phone was super nice too. Ahh, so happy Apple has such great customer service.

There's a 50/50 chance it will: it either will, or will not.

Funny, but not correct. By that logic winning the lottery is a 50/50 proposition.

I would say that the odds are overwhelmingly against this scenario. I would consider the odds to be at least and well over 4 million to 1 against. The 4 million are the number of people who ordered the product vs the less than 1 that have had their delivery date changed from Oct. 1-6 to tomorrow.

What carrier?

Mr. Brewsta, what you've just said... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Just kidding....:cool:Cool story bro...

I would take that bet with those odds. Although I agree it is not 50-50 I would still place them pretty high. Maybe 30 or 40%. Apple loves to find ways to under promise and over deliver as part of their Customer strategy. If they can, I think they would. At the same time this amount of shipping is a logistical nightmare for any company. I have had the experience with the 5S where they did deliver that quickly. Come to think of it I did with my iMac as well which was also delayed. The best answer is we will see what happens. At the same time we know it will be before October 1st

I ordered mine at 3:50 CST through ATT premier site. Before it said Oct delivery now it says shipped with a tracking number. Currently sitting in Memphis. I ordered a 6 128gb slate grey.

Averlus I would disregard what this rep said. As time has shown (through the 57 something pages we're on now) these reps are full of **** more often than not and the lack of consistency between them is astounding. And tbh I think that information is false as well. Right AFTER the pre-orders people saw pre-authorization charges, etc that fell off but this is the real deal at this point from what I can tell. They aren't going to charge you the full amount only to say "haha just kidding" and have it removed.

Has anyone had any luck digging up a tracking number yet?

If you have, is it a 6 or 6 Plus?

Called in to get the free gift for checking out with a 9/19 date and getting Oct 1 and I used my storytelling skills I learned from years of acting class and being in the Screen Actors Guild to get the CSR to offer me any gift I wanted in the Apple lineup within reason. So I went with 150$ Dr Dre headphones because I already have an Apple TV. Now all I have to do is call ATT to get the upgrade fee waived and a leather case maybe.

Oh and also I just got off the phone with FedEx!

I know the guy from way back and he told me they had shipments since this morning of the soon to be delivered 9/19 iPhones but suddenly they just got ANOTHER unexpected shipment to land around noon and its hidden away in the back and he says the size of the boxes are LARGER in this one and that the whole shipment is mysteriously wrapped in GOLD! He says that secret shipment isn't even in the systems and they didn't even know they were coming they just showed up overnight!

Just kidding....:cool:Cool story bro...

I get that you're being the voice of reason here, and I appreciate it. These threads always need someone to crush the over-optimistic euphoria and point out the holes in flaky stories when someone inevitably shows up and tries to break hearts.

And you're probably right. The most likely case is that the phones in our group are coming off the assembly line, being boxed up, assigned a tracking number, and will begin making their trek to our homes later today or tomorrow. Given the amount of times it takes to ship from China, I'd say deliveries in the middle part of next week are optimistically possible. That's the MOST LIKELY case of what's happening here.

But I just disagree on the "impossibility" of tracking numbers and labels being created today. If iPhone 6 Pluses are already staged in warehouses, labels could be printed today and iPhone 6 Pluses could be delivered tomorrow. It IS possible. It is also unlikely.

Exact odds aside, it's doubtful for the simple reason that Apple like most companies operates on a pull system for their inventory in order to reduce oversupply and waste.

Quoting Carl Sagan in a previous post, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Hearsay doesn't cut it.

And then there's Occam's Razor- The simplest explanation is usually the correct explanation.

In this case, the simplest explanation for which there is an overabundance of examples is that these claims amount to trolling.

No credence to this scenario should exist until evidence in support of it is offered.

I think this statement is totally fair and rational.
