All these speculations are hurting me... I've spent too much time reading what people have written today..

Anyway, it's not JUST going to be one thing.. That's what I'm thinking.

What we can be pretty sure about is New Powerbooks. I feel like there is enough evidence to support that.

Video iPod.. That's still a toss up.

But you can't say that there isn't going to be anything with movies/video involved. One thing is the site that is mysteriously forbidden... http://Apple.com/Movies

Nothing else is actually forbidden. But should an event like this just be an update? No. That's where I feel that I differ from the people who say that it'll be a PB update. It can't just be a PB update. Maybe that's redundant.. but it just can't be. Why would they invite all these Media Outlets for a PB update?

PEOPLE WANT iPOD!

Touch screen iPod... Gangsterlicious..

*Taken from Engadget..

I think Engadget just makes stuff up.. like a lot.. And especially about Apple stuff.

One More Thing

Apple will webcast it's financial info Tuesday Oct.11th..
The store will have some updates for Powermacs and Powerbooks the same day and Steve will mention this incindentially either during or after the financial report on say...CNBC..Another interview where he talks about the great new Nano and "final" Powerbooks and Powermacs...

Oct. 12th..

iMedia Store..

iLife Media center that streams video via the new wireless gadgets including the rumored iPod Video..

Jobs stands there talking about how it will change the home

And One More Thing..

This gadget is running OSX 10.4.3 on an Intel platform..

Wait till you see what we have coming in March!

How would you keep your greasy paw prints off the screen if the scroll wheel is touch sensitive?

This is my ideal iPod AV to be announced next week:

--About 7 lbs
--A huge, 17'' HD screen
--A complete keyboard and touch pad so I can easily browse things
--A complete version of Tiger so that I can easily search for my music and movies
--A 2 Ghz processor
--A pretty little apple that lights up white on the back when I'm using it

This is the iPod AV I really want to see!! Who wants tiny screens that have no protection and get all scratched up the first day you own them?? :p

ThinkSecret vs Apple Insider

Think Secret vs Apple Insider

That should be a poll.. Though I have been an avid follower for ThinkSecret, they have been having some trouble with the past couple of "Big one things"

Plus, Apple Insider seems very positive on their information. If you read the article, it's as if they received this information from Steve Jobs himself.

I think Apple Insider + Think Secret = Truth

no way

"one more thing..." and a special event for a powerbook update? come on, who actually believes that? when did apple do this? unless they are going to come up with a g5 powerbook (which is not going to happen). and even then, it is not a "one more thing" event. not that many people are waiting for that after the whole intel switch.

i am hoping for a wireless video capable airport express that can actually become a digital hub.

thinksecret is right about one thing, announcing a video ipod a month after ipod nano would be a stupid move for apple. but we have seen apple do a lot of stupid things anyway.

this is it...

there has been no new software intro since macworld...so this it the thing

IPUBLISH... you make the songs on garage band...you post it on the itunes new page INDIES...you include cover art...we sell it...99cents 50/50 take...

kiss my butt ed brofman JR!!!

October 12th will be the day we find out which rumor site is the best... Think Secret or AppleInsider !

I wonder if Apple is Canary Trapping one of them... This would the perfect way of doing it. I bet they also do it for OS X.

October 12th is also the day Apple finds out which rumor site was leaking confidential info :)

hehe, what do you think Canary Trapping is ?

I have said it before and I will say it again....Apple needs new hardware released to drive year-end sales. Sure the iPod nano is making money hand-over-foot (where did that expression come from anyway?) but I do not think the hardware line can wait till mid 2006 for any major upgrade - and that is assuming they ship on time, not to mention that there is adequate software for people to justify the switching around the time of the release (and people will not want to be forking out a heap of money for this new software, nor run existing software in emulation).

The 'halo' effect from the iPod's is something I do not think Apple has really seen a strong benefit. Those Windows users who have an iPod and are impressed with teh elegance, ease of use, etc, etc may be tempted to move to a Mac, but with very little publicity (and negative comments on all Apple discussion sites on the existing lack of hardware upgrades) why would anyone switch? Sure the 'mini was a great attempt, but i would like to see hte stats on the number of new Mac users who purchase the 'mini.

Apple is doing great right now, the stock price is at an all time high, the iPod is selling like hot cakes - but they really need to get the computer line in order and look at increaseing their share of computer sales (although it is great they have a gazillion percent share of the MP3 market!)

I totally agree with you. TS is dead wrong on this. PB + PM speed bumps? The "special guests" would be thinking..."you dragged me here for this?!"

Hey Chundles, do you have any pictures of koala bears climbing on polls? ;)

Nope, there's no such thing as a Koala Bear. A Drop Bear yes, but a koala is not a bear. I've explained this already.... :)

How is this a stupid move? The iPod Nano buzz is dwindling down...slowly, what better way to get more free publicity than another iPod announcement. It's a one, two punch against Sony, Dell, Creative, etc. You have to remember, the market for the Nano, and the market for a potential video iPod are very different. Most people would buy the Nano, guys with money, gadget freaks, audiophiles, and those who want a video device (there are more than people think) will buy an iPod video. Not to mention Apple will make the iPod an essential addition to the home theater with the inclusion of WiFi if it's true.

This is my theory. Steve will first enter the stage and share how successful the nano is and all. Then he will start hinting at the holiday season and suddenly unveil whats behind some giant curtains. Behind them will be at the very least a mac mini (notice they still ahvnt officially anounced the upgrades) , powerbook and powermac, and perhaps other things. He will tell them about the new specs and how we are going into the transition strong blah blah. Then he will say somthing like "oh i almost forgot... one last thing" and at that point unveil the new vipod or somthing of that sort. That way they get a LOT of free press mentioning all the upgraded models, and have that big bang at the end. People will flock to buy the new models they read about in all the newspapers, and also go to check out the new vipod while there at it. Job's marketing at its best.

New PowerBook with the new iPod docking station built into the PowerBook, also black PowerBooks available. 2 GHz and HD widescreen. I CAN'T WAIT!

Has anyone thought that instead of curtains, think of them as drapes (which are curtains to some of us as well). Drapes are on Windows, right? Maybe Apple is merging with Microsoft. :D
