For the past several nights, I too have been playing the iPhone roulette game. It has been an exercise in frustration.

Wed night I was sooo close. I was signed in, had one in the reserved basket, selected the pickup time, hit the final confirm button, and ....... after what seemed like an eternity the browser presented me with a blank page "The server you are trying to reach is not responding...." . Lost it.
I had to start all over again from scratch, and of course by then, there were no more unlocked units available (poor selection of carrier locked by then as well).

Played again tonight, and finally won.
I wanted a black 16, and only thing available was white 32, so I took it.
Since it is a Christmas present for my daughter, white is fine; I'm just not jumping for joy about spending the extra $100 for the 32gb.

Had I thought about giving my daughter an iPhone for Christmas back on Nov 11th when I ordered them for my wife and I, I could have saved myself a boatload of angst. After we received ours, the idea came to me.
We are leaving next Friday to visit her in Europe for Christmas, so delivery from China was not an option; only hope was iPhone roulette.

Did you guys receive proper status updates on the shipment? Cause till yesterday there were people who had ordered on the 18th and had not yet been shipped!
Maybe the website updates are getting lagged? Ordered mine on the 21st but no update as yet

I see a lot of handy light apps in app store, which one do you purchase to use it to allow your iphone to tether and will the connection be fast with simple mobile? Does it work with iOS5? thanks

None, there's nothing available at the official Apple app store that allows tethering unofficially. Handy light and itether that slipped by where quickly pulled and if you didnt purchase and downloaded it then you are SOL.
The handy lights that you see are just light apps that's all.

Yesterday morning it was still showing "preparing for shipment" , then after a couple of hours it showed "shipped " ( and actually also delivered).
I ordered mine on the 18th, but for ten days the order status was "processing items" . On the 28th the status changed in "preparing for shipment"

When the delivery is supposed to be ? For mine (16GB white) was Dec 2 - Dec 9 (and they delivered yesterday).
One question...for the 1 year warranty, which is the date which makes the warranty start?

For my order of the 16GB Black it says Dec 5 to Dec 12... However it still seems to be processing!
As for the warranty, it should be from the day you receive the phone. That can be the only way IMO.

Yep. I didn't realize either but, thanks to this thread, I reserved in Socal for a unlocked 32gb white and picked up today. Kinda sucks for people who ordered over a week ago and are still waiting.
