Great, I'm sure that there will be many people pleased by this.

If you don't like MMS, simple, don't use it! Not a big deal.

I hope that full MMS comes to the iphone soon. the current method in the iphone is horrible, having to enter in a randomly generated user id and password, and even then the image/sound does not always display.

I wouldn't exactly call running another app to do MMS 'Official'

Well, AT&T sanctioned.

Why can't it be part of the iPhone? I don't want it as an App. That sounds like a hack job. I hope I can record video on my iPhone someday without jailbreaking it.

You realize that "SMS" is just an App? Once background push notifications come, it should be a pretty similar experience.

If we are paying for unlimited data and $30 for unlimited text and then they charge a another fee for MMS, I, and a lot of people im sure, will be very upset

$50 for phone service
$20 for unlimited data plan
$30 for tethering
$5-15 for MMS

My math may be a little off but $100+ a month is getting up there.
I can add the storm to my already established verizon account and my bill will be $125 a month for 3 phones. hmmmm

I wonder how much longer the iPhone will be number 1

If we get MMS before we get ***** copy/paste I'm going to blow a gasket.

If they try to charge extra for MMS they, Apple and ATT will become a laughing stock. I hope for their sake they're not that stupid. Then again, this is the same phone that doesn't have copy and paste.

Apple should put their effort in really usefull things like copy/paste. Not in such (mostly) expensive crap like MMS.

My apologies I forgot $30 for unlimited text pages.
Which is neither data nor mms.

I don't see why the carriers wouldn't charge for MMS messages. They do it for all other phones, and I don't think they would just give this extra service away for free to iPhone users. I'm going to find it a little humorous if paying for MMS because a big sticking point with the iPhone fanatics. I think Apple did a smart thing in removing it. A little forward thinking and you realize you already have a free and unlimited MMS client in the Mail app. Sure not everyone has it yet, but with the rate of adoption on smart phones it would have been wiser to go forward with it, instead of giving the phone carriers another service to charge you for.

most carriers charge for a messaging plan including mms in it

no one is going to pay extra for MMS...especially when MMS messages on any other phone counts no more than a regular text msg (well at least thats how AT&T in the US works). I also agree with a previous poster, I'd rather have a native app. Unless the carrier has special abilities to have it push to the phone, there is no point in it. How Apple should do it is...when you get an MMS msg., it comes in like a text (in the SMS app) and says You have a MMS msg...u click the msg or the blue arrow to the right and it displays the MMS msg (like in picture mode where you can hide the navigation bars by tapping the screen)(and be able to save it if its a picture like you do in safari). also...SMS/MMS forwarding is needed too...so many times i want to forward a msg to someone and have to retype it (which i usually end up not doing). (a way to do this is hold the msg u want to forward and a popup box comes up...options...forward or cancel) thats what the iphone needs...and copy and paste of course

I agree with you... Why would we pay more for a service that other phone have for free. They need to make it free since we are already paying a data plan.

Id leave AT&T for the Storm. Period, end of story. Not just for that reason, but many others.

For the one billionth time AT&T does not charge a premium for mms. There messaging plans for all there phones include mms. Stop saying AT&T is going to rip you off. I have had 5 different phones with AT&T all with MMS and didnt pay a cent extra than if I just sent SMS.

Those 5 phones have not been iPhones, if you havent noticed AT&T treats the iPhone a little differently than every other phone

At last I will be able to see all those pics people keep sending me.

It was getting embarrassing!

Alice

SERIOUSLY! All the time I have my friends say "you have a $$$ iPhone, and you can't even picture message with it? How lame!"

It's so frustrating when my friends send me a picture. I don't even bother to log into that stupid web based viewmymessage thing. Takes too long.

and video recording which even my 5 year old phone can do

I really doubt this will come. Apple don't do halves. If video recording on the current hardware (which wasn't designed for it) isn't up to scratch, they'll leave it out.

here we go again, a basic feature that shouldve been on the phone to begin with and it get blown up like WOW WE CAN NOW GET MMS,

God I hope the storm is good :)

Needs more than MMS

I love my iPhone and it needs MMS so fingers crossed for us all being able to get it.

Next, for starters, when will we see landscape e-mails, copy and paste, video recording and forwarding SMS?!
