I wouldn't exactly call running another app to do MMS 'Official'
Why can't it be part of the iPhone? I don't want it as an App. That sounds like a hack job. I hope I can record video on my iPhone someday without jailbreaking it.
If we are paying for unlimited data and $30 for unlimited text and then they charge a another fee for MMS, I, and a lot of people im sure, will be very upset
$50 for phone service
$20 for unlimited data plan
$30 for tethering
$5-15 for MMS
Great, I'm sure that there will be many people pleased by this.
If you don't like MMS, simple, don't use it! Not a big deal.
unlimited data*
*does not include messaging** or tethering even though data
** does not include mms
oh i love it lol
$50 for phone service
$20 for unlimited data plan
$30 for tethering
$5-15 for MMS
My math may be a little off but $100+ a month is getting up there.
I can add the storm to my already established verizon account and my bill will be $125 a month for 3 phones. hmmmm
I wonder how much longer the iPhone will be number 1
If we get MMS before we get ***** copy/paste I'm going to blow a gasket.
I don't see why the carriers wouldn't charge for MMS messages. They do it for all other phones, and I don't think they would just give this extra service away for free to iPhone users. I'm going to find it a little humorous if paying for MMS because a big sticking point with the iPhone fanatics. I think Apple did a smart thing in removing it. A little forward thinking and you realize you already have a free and unlimited MMS client in the Mail app. Sure not everyone has it yet, but with the rate of adoption on smart phones it would have been wiser to go forward with it, instead of giving the phone carriers another service to charge you for.
no one is going to pay extra for MMS...especially when MMS messages on any other phone counts no more than a regular text msg (well at least thats how AT&T in the US works). I also agree with a previous poster, I'd rather have a native app. Unless the carrier has special abilities to have it push to the phone, there is no point in it. How Apple should do it is...when you get an MMS msg., it comes in like a text (in the SMS app) and says You have a MMS msg...u click the msg or the blue arrow to the right and it displays the MMS msg (like in picture mode where you can hide the navigation bars by tapping the screen)(and be able to save it if its a picture like you do in safari). also...SMS/MMS forwarding is needed too...so many times i want to forward a msg to someone and have to retype it (which i usually end up not doing). (a way to do this is hold the msg u want to forward and a popup box comes up...options...forward or cancel) thats what the iphone needs...and copy and paste of course
i would still just rather have apple support it than have a third party workaround (even if it is the carrier)

For the one billionth time AT&T does not charge a premium for mms. There messaging plans for all there phones include mms. Stop saying AT&T is going to rip you off. I have had 5 different phones with AT&T all with MMS and didnt pay a cent extra than if I just sent SMS.
At last I will be able to see all those pics people keep sending me.
It was getting embarrassing!
