lets hope some of it is from the system being overwhelmed but if not how you do you spend months and months on an app and this is what you release. it crashes everytime i try to do something other than a test call.

not good

Can't scroll down in chat once the screen gets full. Typing is hesitant at best, outright slow at worst. How do they have the kahonas to release this crap?

For some reason I could not download the application on the iphone , but was able to pull it up in itunes and download it.Works great after crashing a few times.

Think I might be deleting this application. Froze the iphone and would not un freeze. It has done that twice now. I thought all was well , but apparently there are some kinks they need to work out...

And in much the same way Nimbuzz ****ed up when you try to pull a contact up from the dialpad call screen it adds the + but not the 1 and your call doesnt work.

works perfectly... just got off a 20 minute phone call with it.

if it works with 3g... it would be the best thing that has happened since the iphone.. and also run in the background.

Wow, this is awesome. I made a couple test calls, and it worked fine for me. I did the Skype test call, and called someone else on Skype, and it sounded great, and they could hear me. No crashes yet...

Works fine here as well.

One major annoyance is that incoming chats don't result in any audible notification.. How's one supposed to spot new chats??

Skype over WiFi Phone

Has anyone ever tried Skype over one of common (ie Netgear, Belkin, etc) WiFi phones that are marketing as compatible with the Skype service?

We are looking to cancel our landline but want the convenience of a wireless phone. Cell service is poor at our office so we need some lines out besides cellular.

Any comments based in actual experience welcomed please!!

PS--Downloading SKYPE APP NOW -- Review coming shortly.

I wonder if jailbreaking has anything to do with the crashes? I've noticed after a few mods the phone has a tendency to be a bit more quirky. I've found the whole process to be a bit overrated really.

Oh and yes skype crashes for me too.

Works Great

Talking via my Skype Out account right now to a land line phone.

West coast to east coast over WiFi.

Working Great. -- 5 minutes -- no issues. :)

Quality not quite as clear as a land line, but very good and useable. Destroys Fring!

This could be the App I've been waiting for.

iPhone First Gen. Current 2.x software. No Jailbreak. No Mods.

Works in Canada

I was pissed to find out that everybody but Canada would get this (they could at least sell it in Canada to pay out the patent holders) but I decided to use my US iTunes account to download the Skype app.

I was afraid there would be a country IP block, but I'm happy to report: it works perfectly.
