The glitches on the boot screen are normal. You're looking at the kernel shellcode jailbreakme uses (temporarily stored on the framebuffer).

Just JB'd my IP4, installed MyWi ($9.9 upgrade offer for 3.xx users...Nice !).

Just one niggling problem re theme, or part themes (battery icons, change clock icon etc).

Installed same 4 theme parts that I used to use on my 3GS (which worked perfectly), a battery icon, a compass icon, a 3G symbol and a clock icon.

All enabled in Winterboard, but none of them appear to actaully show on the phone (yes, rebooted).

They are quite old icon replacements, and are all v1.0. Are they simply maybe not compatible with OS4? or is there something else I should be doing?

Apart from that, very, very easy JB, and kept everything intact.

Sigh...

The one bar issue is when you´ve installed mobile substrate. After a reboot it should work fine...

Cydia has been like that for me since 4.0. Just ignore all of them and things still work fine.

Like some of you, ive had my iphone4 for a month now, only using it with wifim filled up with appsm, pics, movies and stuff.

What do you recommend, first upgrade from 4.0 to 4.01 with itunes, then do a backup, and then jailbreak me over safari?
After jb, can i just reinstall the org backup to get all the apps, pics and stuff back as it was, or does it erase and make it impossible to reinsert?

Plug in iTunes, backup/sync your iPhone if you feel necessary. Update to 4.0.1, then run jailbreakbe.

No need to restore since the facetime/MMS bug is now fixed.

Thanks for the jailbreak! Works great on my iPhone 4 running 4.0.1. First thing I did was put custom SMS sounds.
Little concerned Safari has such a bad exploit though.....

SMS / MMS is a no go for me, so I did a restore to go back to pre-jailbreak.
Jailbreak installation was flawless for me, and I was able to change my lockscreen, but with no SMS / MMS, I felt disconnected.

I'll jailbreak again when the bug(s) is fixed.
