Just JB my 3GS using jailbreakme.modmyi.com. Worked well, now have mywi installed & have tethered to my iPad. My wife has already asked me to JB her iphone4 when fedex delivers it tomorrow. I will also soon JB my iPad so I can set up frash as well...

My phone has been on the "Downloading..." screen for nearly 30 minutes now.

The bar filled up in a matter of seconds and then it just sat there...anyone else??

did you use jailbreakme.com or jailbreakme.modmyi.com? The second one was way faster for me. took about 10-15 seconds max. Really fast. Same on my ipad and iphone together.

If you're having trouble getting the website to work, one work around that I just discovered is to download the PDF for your phone from here:

Email the PDF to yourself as an attachment. Open the PDF from Mail.

+1 for this. I could not get past the purple screen on my iPhone 4 running iOS4.0.1

BTW, when looking at the pdf's on that page, keep the following in mind...
iPhone 3G - iPhone1,X
iPhone 3GS - iPhone2
iPhone 4 - iPhone 3

Update 7: Seven updates? You bet, because it's looking like there's already a fix for the missing FaceTime and MMS features. Head on over to Redmond Pie (in more coverage below) for instructions to install the Cydia package that brought video chat back to two of our iPhone 4 handsets. If you're just downloading JailbreakMe for the first time though, you shouldn't need to do a thing, as Comex claims both have been fixed in a new version of the hack that just went live.

Great the cydia update sorted out the errors on my 3GS. Gereat stuff no restore needed.

Hey guys! Do I need to jailbreak my phone to unlock my phone? They are reporting that an unlock will come within 48 hours. I rather just unlock my phone than jailbreaking it. Any suggestions?

Successfully jb my iPhone 3GS new boot! But, now my iPhone keeps entering in "Exit Safe Mode." I tried rebooting several times and removing winterboard, restart springboard but no luck, what am I missing?

anyone having issues with openssh?
i've installed it to tweak a few files with winscp and when i turn the SSH toggle to 'OFF' in sbsettings, winscp can still freely browse files on my phone.
it seems openSSH is permanently enabled on my phone.

Has anyone outside the us managed to use the new jailbreak? I cannot get to the downloading stage, if I reload the page it comes back with a message that says oops looks like the downloaded crashed last time. I am in the uk and it seems people in Europe also have the same problem.

Anyone know of A us proxy server we can use?

Worked fine on my first gen iPod touch. I do hope Apple fixes the Safari exploit soon though - this flashy jailbreak is great and all, but a browser exploit that allow this level of code execution is just waiting to be abused.
