I couldn't go with the Air, purely because I couldn't drop Pro Motion and true quad speakers. That with mini-LED on the 12.9 are the main reasons I'm on the 12.9 Pro M1Go with the Air. It should have an M2 in it and be available in two sizes.

Doesn't seem like a good reason to raise the prices to such ridiculous levels because of these "more expensive" panels. My Samsung Tab S8 is thin enough for me.One advantage is thinness, from what has been reported so far. Conventional OLED panels use two glass substrates, one of which is replaced with TFE in those hybrid OLED panels.
And yet, we know many of the Apple faithful will rush to buy the new iPad Pros regardless of price. If that makes them happy, fine. But I won’t buy above the iPad Air level if the rumored prices turn out to be true. BTW, I fully expect the prices for the Airs to inflate a bit, too.Doesn't seem like a good reason to raise the prices to such ridiculous levels because of these "more expensive" panels. If my iPad was my only device I would. If you haven't tried Stage Manager after iOS 17, I would recommend trying it again. I turned it off completely last year on 16 because of the bugs and how the windowing worked but imo it works pretty well now.
The point was, they do last forever. But iPads do not last forever, so a new iPad renders said forever keypad completely useless. Therefore they last as long as your iPad does basically. I want a keyboard that fits the next iPads also. They are so well made that they last forever, and this is the reason you won’t buy one???
My wife wants to do the opposite and go from her 11" to the big one. Any particular reason you want smaller?Likely downsizing my M1 12.9 to an OLED 11” with Magic Keyboard.
Absolutely. The regular multitasking is much better for home use and media consumption. If my iPad was my only device I would.
But I took my own advice and bought a 13" MBA M2, so I use that for when I need to do "windowed", "real" computer stuff.
I was already proficient with my iPad's multitasking prior to Stage Manager, so I don't really need it.
Says who. You? Because you have the same needs as everyone purchasing an iPad?No way. The experience would mimic Windows tablets: It SUCKS.
An OS designed for a mouse is NOT a good experience on a touch-based device.
The real solution is for Apple to give iPadOS more Mac-like features, separating it further and further from iOS (mobile).
Sadly, Stage Manager was a poor attempt at this.
I'm not even sure that doing a Samsung Dex-like, macOS-when-docked thing would be feasible.
I'd say if anyone wants a Mac, just get one. An iPad is for doing "iPad things", in an "iPad-kind-of-way".
Until we start saying "no" to ridiculous prices, they will keep raising prices. 120Hz displays are nothing new and so hopefully they will find their way to the Air models as that's really all I would want. Heck, even my Samsung Tab S8 has a 120Hz panel! And yet, we know many of the Apple faithful will rush to buy the new iPad Pros regardless of price. If that makes them happy, fine. Yes, me. No, I don't have the same needs as everyone purchasing an iPad.Says who. You? Because you have the same needs as everyone purchasing an iPad?
