OMFG... UPS "missed delivery" of my package

I submitted feedback to Apple asking for choice of carrier on their online store.
We didn't get our package yesterday either and are looking at a Monday delivery. Yesterday the status on the ups site went from "out for delivery" to "in transit" and when we called ups they found out that it was never put on the truck. They basically asked us to do their job for them by offering the option of picking it up at their office in downtown LA but there was no way we'd want to drive through all that Friday night traffic. Either UPS cannot handle the volume of shipments from Apple or maybe Apple couldn't keep up with the orders and now we have all these package issues.

This whole thing has newly reminded me why I hate UPS.
This was the first time I ordered the phone through Apple itself and not AT&T. I misunderstood Apple's UPS restrictions and figured they would just leave the package at my apartment's building office like all UPS/FedEx packagaes in the past. (I was uncomfortable pre-signing for it because the box would possibly sit by my door for 8 hours.) So I missed them yesterday because I was at work.
I went into UPS MyChoice last night with the tag number and rerouted the delivery to a UPS Store. However I got a notice saying they would try again at my residence today. I have been waiting at home.
UPS said they made a "second attempt" 45 minutes ago. I was 2 rooms away and never heard a knock on the door at the time they said they were here. They need to work on their door banging skills. I went into UPS MyChoice again and tried to reroute it to the UPS Store. I wonder if they'll ignore my request again and just show up on Monday when I'm not here. Thanks for listening to my vent.

This reminds me of why I wish Apple didn't have Friday release days. Up here, the UPS customer centres are closed Saturday's, and there's no option for Saturday delivery. Miss the Friday delivery, and you're waiting for Monday. :-(

I doubt they will change. 99.9% are delivered with no problem and I have had little problem with UPS.
That and whoever faked the deliveries yesterday screwed up the pick up center UPS employees last night. Instead of delivering, they had a line of people picking up.
I actually did wait in line and picked one up at the store. This isn't a practical solution though, I'm not sure what your point is given that's there's no option to pay more or less to have a different carrier.
My point is, ifnenoufh people have a problem with ups, they'll go out of business organically. We all have options. Nobody NEEDS to have their phone delivered. These phones are at a point where they're going to be sold by McDonald's here soon. Don't like ups? Don't support them. But direct from s retailer. Simple.
