OMG...Amazon 20% coupon on NEW Macbook Airs

I'm glad some of you are enjoying amazon, cuz right now I am not :( I get this error saying my code has already been used, and no one in their CS department comprehends this. I've gone through 6 CS reps and 2 of their Marketing reps. The only thing I have so far is the last marketing rep saying he actually tried my code and it still worked, but it doesn't! And because of this fiasco with my code not working, I wasn't able to get the MBA when it was still for sale. I'm just going to have to call and tell them I feel I should be able to be accommodated. Yes I know they're an international company, and I'm just 1 person, but it's their system that's not working, so I feel it's not too much to ask for them to retroactively apply my code and allow me to get it. Am I crazy?
 
The base 13 Airs are never going to ship, uggggghhhh, worth saving all that money though, I can wait. I ordered mine on the 6th and it still says shipping August 30-September 16

I know for a fact that Amazon chat reps CAN take 20% off the orders without a coupon code. . Just keep trying and hope you find the right rep.

I'm on my 8th rep right now after getting transferred again and I'm basically pleading with them. I just feel like I should be able to since I've been having this problem while the newest MBA's were still on the list.

Edit: I've just asked her who I can talk to or call that can make this decision. I'm waiting.... seems like i've been doing that a lot the last few days.

I have a perfectly good 2009 17" MacBook Pro. I'm buying this one for school. I can wait almost indefinitely for this and not be upset, but I am tickled to death to get this deal!

Which department are you trying? I failed until I tried the 'other questions or problems with placing an order' department.
 
I've kept an eye on this thread since I placed my order this past Sunday, the 7th.
I ordered the base 13" model and still have that 1 to 2 months shipping date.

It looks like the base model of the 13" is the one that hasn't shipped yet. Kind of makes me wish I ordered the upper 13" since those are shipping. But I didn't think the extra storage space was worth so much. Sigh...hopefully the base 13" will ship by the end of this week or next week at the very latest. We shall see :rolleyes:

After that I kept stressing that I bought the kindle only for this offer, and that other people have been successful like this.


What you want is not to let them use the coupon for you, that is impossible. You want them to manually take 20% off your order.

Where were you able to find the 1299 base 13inch air on amazon. When I select the 128gig storage model it shows as like 1499...

I found it on the promotions page that I received in the email with my coupon code. I clicked the link and it was there. I believe I was really lucky to order that day because I was considering holding onto the coupon for another couple of weeks and ordering then. However, I noticed they had 24 month no interest financing so I bit the bullet and ordered. I'll pay it off before that, but at least I didn't wait till the end of this month to order :)

That price of 1499 is probably an amazon marketplace seller. Amazon's price probably isn't showing up due to them being sold out and behind on orders.

Hehe, I ordered around around 3pm EST on sunday. Went to target after church and bought a Kindle with Special Offers. Came home registered it, got the coupon, and then placed my order. I bet I missed the pull from the promotion only by a few hours ;)

Yeah they are doing their best to slam the door shut on this and not look back.

I just had success.:cool: I think the only leg I had to stand on was that I had placed an order for the 11" base model a few days ago (that had the 20% off) but then cancelled it to wait for the 11" 4/128. I found that the chat support was more willing to play ball. The phone reps were denying all existence of the offer. The best part was I was able to get free 2 day shipping for all of the run around. Now just waiting for the shipping email...

Good luck to anyone still trying to order. You will need it.
 
the lady was completely uninformed. She told me to contact apple to see when they were going to ship to amazon, and then give them a call back so they'll know! :rolleyes: And that's all I get for spending 50 minutes with them... most of it on hold.

Lol on hold... while they do "research" huh! man i got tired of hearing that phrase! but at least i got the deal!
