Uh, as far as them auditing the orders and charging you more, I'm pretty sure thats legit. Apple has that claus in for their educational discounts for if you order one (as the education discount site requires no authorization of any kind) I read it in the small print a while ago and the kindle laptop offer definitely said (in several places) that the code had to be linked to the account in order to be able to use it. I think that, when it was an automated order, It wouldn't have been an issue, but now that people are specifically calling up and having reps manually apply the discount, why wouldn't they go the extra mile to save themselves as much as they can?
I'd love to know if Apple really has any interest in matching this deal? I cannot imagine why they would...?
Edit: By the way, I got my 11" 4/128 yesterday and it is a Samsung/Samsung. I honestly could not care any more or less, and next to my 2010 (which isn't Samsung anything) I can't tell the difference!

The offer did say that the code is non-transferrable so technically you are violating the terms and conditions by purchasing the code from eBay. If anything the fraud is being committed by you.
Jealous of all the 11's shipping! Actually considered one, but I went with the base 13. Hopefully we hear something this week, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was longer. Seems like they were having trouble keeping the base 13 in stock even without the sale.
I ordered my 13/4/128 on Aug 1st, before the coupon became available. My shipping date has changed from Aug 5 > Aug 8> Aug 12 > Aug 15> Aug 16.
I bought a code on eBay and just tried to use it with a customer service rep, but they said I couldn't use the code because it wasn't emailed to me. He almost seemed willing to help me with buying an 11" MB Air.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm bummin' right now.
Well that's not a good sign, maybe their getting tired of all the calls/requests to push coupons through. I'm sure there has to be an internal memo or two on this subject by now.

Yeah, I just noticed that my date has changed from that to Aug 31, 2011 - Sept 20, 2011.
Maybe, they're waiting while they audit codes to see if they are tied to customers' Amazon email accounts? If so, those of us with legit email accounts may actually get ours sooner? I know, probably not.
Amaon does irk me at times.
I talked to a rep on why it hasn't shipped on friday even though its estimated to come by monday. rep says "we ship sundays. it'll get there monday. no worries"
Talk to them right now cause I received an email on saturday at 4am saying it was shipped. no tracking information updated but email said shipped. talked to a rep, said its coming by the 17th. kinda pissed.

btw in the last 6 reps i talked to the past week, 5 of them were terse in responses and in a way cold. not sure i agree with whoever said amaon reps were "awesome"

Well, there's people from this site and probably other sites that have been trying to get the 20% deal (sorry to say but the ebay codes are not legit). Unfortunately, some customers have been rude and very demanding. Word gets around. I'm not sticking up for Amazon, but this info gets circulated quickly. So, many reps could be tired of it.
I figured they would be tired of the constant 20% questions but i mean this was a question regarding my order. I made sure i was extremely polite to give them a break. It said "shipping soon" for days and yet I received no shipping update.
i understand that i should be happy that im getting it alot earlier than the 1-2 months but the attitude of the reps is somewhat unacceptable for a company that gets such rave reviews. The last rep i talked to wouldn't even answer my questions with specifics, she just copy and pasted the last thing she said. is it a crime asking why my order is delayed? I've been checking 20 times a day (i know no life) if theres an update on shipping adn look at it now. My estimated 15th delivery is now 17th. Why?
I think its more of the fact that i was reassured that the laptop will come def by monday but than they changed the date on me. This is 3 days after already charging my card of course.
You have a legitimate beef. Just because they have a reason to be terse doesn't mean they should be.

Lol yeah... I ordered an 11" and its supposed to get here tomorrow but I'm looking at the tracking thing and I can't really see how that would happen cuz I doubt ups works Sunday's. So I'm guessing I'll have to wait till Tuesday

Yeah I have a tracking number.... I did 2 day shipping and they sent it ups ground. Doesn't that take longer?
Well it came from Kansas and right now it's in Dallas Texas which is 4 hours from where I am (Houston). But they don't work on Sunday so that's why I find it hard that it'll be delivered tomorrow
Have faith...I'm in Houston too and I get things that ship all the time on a Sunday from Dallas the next morning. They do work weekends, they just don't deliver on weekends.
damn so you guys got it shipped what day? friday or saturday? At this moment, mine hasn't even shipped so im assuming with the overnight shipping i paid for, i'll probably receive it tuesday. (rep says wednesday though. SHAFTED)

Just asking cause i went onto the fedex site to see if i could do a drop off on sunday but the "ship date" box automatically choose monday for me. Wouldn't even let me choose sunday. bummer.
