I can't get the CSR's to budge guys:(

One supervisor I talked to was very adamant that the other laptops will come back in the promotion. He said the "links" change randomly, and all the time.

Edit: Since he says the other laptops will come back, I don't know why he wouldn't go ahead and give the discount. If they're coming back, what's wrong with me spending my money now, vs whenever they come back?

I just ordered one and got them to apply the coupon to a new 11' which is no longer part of the promotion. I had to chat with support to get them to do it. I thought I would include the log in case you want to try the same thing. I would suggest following more or less the same script.

Me:Is it possible to use the "Kindle With Special Offers: Save 20%" offer with the "Apple MacBook Air MC969LL/A 11.6-Inch Laptop" I currently have in my cart? It's my understanding that this was originally included in the promotion, and that if you ask, it is possible to still apply the coupon to this laptop. thanks.
[Amazon Support Person]:Hello, my name is [Amazon Support Person]. I'll be happy to look into your question.
Me:Thanks
[Amazon Support Person]:Let me know the promotional code.
Me:It's already applied to my account
but the code was
xxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx
[Amazon Support Person]:Thanks for your information.
May I place you on hold for 2 to 3 minutes while I check this for you?
Me:sure thing
[Amazon Support Person]:I’m still working on this. Please give me another 2 minutes.
Me:I appreciate you working on it
[Amazon Support Person]:Thanks so much for waiting.
I'm really sorry currently this item is not eligible for promotional offer.
Me:right, it was part of the promotion, but apparently amazon changed it around
a couple of people have said that they asked and they were able to still apply the coupon to it
[Amazon Support Person]:Please check the following link for eligible items:
Me:I know the link
[Amazon Support Person]:Oh great, [My Name].
Me:Were you able to ask if is possible to make an exception?
I assumed the offer would stay the same through the life of the offer
but I guess it makes sense that Amazon could change it at any time
[Amazon Support Person]:Please place the order and provide the order number so that I can reduce the item cost as a one time exception.
Me:[Amazon Support Person]. You're awesome
[Amazon Support Person]:The might also offered as an exception only.
Me:Order right now?
[Amazon Support Person]:Thank you.
Yes, [My Name].
Waiting for your new order number.
Me:Order Number: xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx
[Amazon Support Person]:One moment please.
New Item Price: $911.95
Me:If I had a first born son, I would name him [Amazon Support Person]
Do I need to do anything else?
[Amazon Support Person]:No, [My Name].
Thank you.
Me:alright. later. thanks.

Edit: to clarify this is the 128GB SSD 4GB RAM 11' (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CWIRPG)

Help Please!

I bought a code on eBay and just tried to use it with a customer service rep, but they said I couldn't use the code because it wasn't emailed to me. He almost seemed willing to help me with buying an 11" MB Air.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm bummin' right now.

That's a new development. How did he know it wasn't emailed to you?

I have no clue how he figured it out, but there are currently two Kindles registered to my account.

If anyone has tips, I'd appreciate it.

Just keep asking new reps. Took 2hrs to get two done on two accounts. Fastest chat was 10min done. If they try to transfer you or they answer you with a script then try again. I used the I had it in cart last week and it worked but I went to sigh up for an amazon card and it took a week to get shhhh and don't flame

Did he ask you to copy and paste the email, or just the promo code?

He asked me to copy and paste the code. I tried chatting with another rep and he didn't even ask me for the code; he just asked if the code was emailed to my registered email address with Amazon.

I'm also in the process of trying to contact the seller of the code to see if they're willing to give me the email address, but this is the first incident of the reps asking for it (I've read through the threads).

When I tried to sell my code yesterday(I didn't need it to get the 20% off), the rep told me that Amazon would start checking, and even auditing past purchasers who used the code without a kindle. I didn't believe him, but that appears to be true.

It seems I'm the only person who's said anything about it (right now)... Wish I knew this was going to happen.

Hmm...if that does start happening, I predict a sudden surge in negative feedback being left on eBay from fine upstanding citizens like the one who's currently threatening me because he can't use it on what he wants.

I'm trying to work with the seller to see if I can either get the email address or get a refund. I'm not thrilled about having to go down this road, but I purchased the code less than 5 hours ago, so I hope there's still time for some sort of assistance. :(

Did you buy the code with the intention of purchasing a MacBook Air?

I did, but apparently they're auditing to find out if they actually emailed the buyer any promotional codes to take advantage of the discount on any of the items.

I contacted amazon about this because my kindle was broken during this promotion and the rep said they couldnt if I didnt have a code but did give me a $25 credit. I also chatted with apple and they said they will match the offer and I would have to call to get it deducted from my offer but I doubt this is real.

If they are auditing their chat reps will all be fired. My coupons were not used they did price adjusts. If the deal is dead, It might be. The 11.6 are now 3 to 6 months wait. If they go and charge my card additionally that's also fraud and I'll fight with my cc as will most of us. Don't fret, either try or give up. Don't say you got the code on eBay, say it was on the your kindle. I think the question they ask "how did you get the promo code in which email " is a plot to get you to falsely say you got it on eBay and now you have a chat history of that... It was on the kindle special offers I believe and the code said 20 percent.

----------

If thy ask for so much info exit and start up another chat. The ones that help you right away after you explain are the keepers. The one that forwards you o kindle dept are pains and will not budge.

Only one chat rep told me that. I don't think that we can put much faith in it being true. His name was Thomas.

I'd love to try this on Apple... If it works for you, let me know. :)

The reps were pretty quick to try and help, but they all start with the same question (I've tried three times): What email address was the code sent to?

The seller was nice enough to offer me an out and I asked if he would give me a refund; he's checking the info and he's finding out that it's not just for Apple products, but for anyone trying to use the discount on any of the items where the 20% discount would apply.

Hopefully, I get the refund. $300 off would have been really nice...

Wow, looks like I used my code right on time.

I ordered the 11" 128GB SSD on August 10th.

Originally, I got an estimated delivery date of September 7-20th, with 1 day shipping.

I got an update recently and i'm supposed to receive the Air on Monday.
