Actually, I haven't received the magic email yet either. I was going by the order status on the website. "Shipping Soon" + account debited = joy is the equation I'm using...

Yah my account was also debited, I just saw that. Hopefully it magic emails us today. I've got overnight shipping. :)

what was your estimate delivery in amazon order page?
I've ordered on 8/7 and showing "shipping soon", but delivery date is not changed, "august 30, 2011 - september 15, 2011" with one-day shipping. And didn't get any email from amazon.

8/31-9/16

Received following email just now. Hope my order doesn't get canceled :(

Hello,

A careful review of your account indicates that you've required promotional certificates and Price adjustments on a majority of your orders.

Through the normal course of business, the occasional problem is inevitable. However, you seem to have had an unusually high rate of problems in your account history

When unusual account activity like this comes to our attention, we'll evaluate each account on a case-by-case basis to determine if additional action or closing the account is necessary. We’d prefer to work with you because we do value your business.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Account Specialist

I'd hate to be banned from Amazon even if I did save a few hundred dollars on a MacBook Air. Not worth it in the long run.

I heard they don't just ban the account but the customers themselves.

Hard to say. If you Google "banned from amazon," ironically a MacRumors thread is the first result.

The third search listing has an email that is a little similar to your email.

Hello from Amazon.com.

A careful review of your account indicates you've experienced an extraordinary number of incidents with your orders and corresponding shipments.

In the normal course of business, the occasional problem is inevitable. The rate at which such problems have occurred on your account is extraordinary, however, and cannot continue. Effective immediately, your Amazon.com account is closed and you are no longer able to shop in our store. I am very sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

Please know that any accounts related to yours have also been closed. If you were to open a new account, the same will result and it will also be closed. In the event that you attempt to do so, we will not accept the return of any additional orders, nor will we issue further refunds in connection with any future orders. We appreciate your cooperation in refraining from using our web site.

If you require additional assistance, or have any concerns, feel free to contact us directly at account-appeals@amazon.com.

Please do not contact regular Customer Service again, as they will no longer be able to assist you.

yea but the only difference is that email states that the customer's account is definitely closed. with mine it says they will review. not feeling good about this :(

anyone know if the account is 'for sure' going to be canceled/closed? or this is just a warning type of thing?

How many problems / how many times have you contacted them?

I've had several problems recently and have contacted costumer service 10-15 times. While I am confident I'm nowhere close to being banned (I have spent 10+K in the last year and my problems just recently began to happen), I'm just curious how much it takes.

I cannot wait for my MBA. ever since I ordered it, my first gen aluminum MB just feels so clunky.

If Amazon put me on notice like that I'd order my stuff, keep my head down, and keep it moving. No phone calls, no complaints. Call me wuss if you want, but I spend and save way too much through Amazon to risk a ban.

Come on Amazon! Where's my tracking number already! I has said "shipping soon" with a delivery estimate of 8/26 since yesterday! I have 1-day shipping as well.

Probably being one of those customers who feels they are entitled to every promotion and discount even if they aren't eligible for it...and then spends hours of CS's time complaining to get those discounts. Just a theory.

guilty

that more or less explains it..

In that case I wouldn't be surprised if you get banned.

Upon a quick glance at your previous posts in this thread, you sound like a retailers worst nightmare. Returning laptops until you get a screen AND SSD model that you find "acceptable" at the expense of the retailer? No wonder you're bound to get banned.

i havent returned any laptops... i havent even received mine yet...

i just did many chats with the CSRs to get promotions applied to my order.

clearly i was wrong. not denying that. but now, moving past that, what should i do to not get banned?

From the sound of the email, unless you promise never to waste CS time again, sounds like they've already made up their mind.

Ordered a 13/128 on 8/6 at 1am EDT. My status now says shipping soon, but the delivery estimates are still August 29-September 20. I'm hoping that changes soon, as well.

Since it seems that my MBA might finally be arriving, I decided to order the following shell for it from Amazon. The reviews look good.
BLACK mCover® Hard Shell Cover Case For NEW 13.3-inch A1369 Apple MacBook Air

Can't wait to get them both!

not sure how you can say they've already made up their mind. it clearly says that "we'll evaluate each account on a case-by-case basis to determine if additional action or closing the account is necessary. We'd prefer to work with you because we do value your business." obviously i won't be abusing CSRs again. if i keep a low profile, do you think i will be okay?

My 8/6 4AM CST order of the 13/128 just changed status to shipping soon. Still shows Delivery Estimate: August 31, 2011 - September 16, 2011.

13/4/128 - DELIVERED! Such a beautiful machine. So fast and light, way faster than my previous core 2 duo macbook air.

And, for those who were wondering, ordered 8/5 at 12:15 MST, free one day shipping, samsung/samsung.

Congrats on your new machine! I'm still waiting for a shipping notice for mine...and I ordered a few hours before you with 1-day shipping too. I'm jealous!
