I believe the Final is also with ITV not BBC but yeah BBC UHD is AMAZING!!!!
I don't think you can watch UHD via Apple TV iPlayer app though... you have to use your TV iPlayer app instead.

i think it is actually on both. At least I hope the article I saw which stated as such is correct!

Could have just watch it on the normal telly.. Or in the pub like everyone else 😂
My Aerial is knackered and the local pub is crap so I had no choice. Ended up watching it on my laptop. Thankfully the final is on the BBC.

Blame itv , not apple

The itv hub app sucks , the Apple TV is awesome
It was the ITV app this time, although I have had the same problem with the last two Apple Keynotes (apart from the ads bit), but both worked fine on my iMac which I had to use instead. There may be some contributing factor from tvOS due to the ITV app apparently being OK on other platforms.

I have a very messy beard, but yes, I watch everything through streaming - I don't even have an aerial hooked up (no cable or satellite either). That means Apple TV for me, but it's also true of my friends who use Android. In fact I don't know of anybody still watching broadcast TV, not even my mum.
I’ve been doing the same for two years now, and this is pretty much the first time I’ve had an issue (well second time, but both ITV during the Euros). I have however this week decided to plug my Aerial back in to my tv for Freeview as I feel like I’ve completed watching all the good content on streaming sites

The report is not accurate it was available on the STV app as well which is the Scottish affiliate for ITV. I had zero issues watching the game… other than the score. I wish there wasn’t such arrogance about English football and how we have to hear about it every 10 seconds….

But everything on Freeview is also on streaming sites, surely?

Yes, but if watched via Freesat it worked fine (or any other non-internet based service).

They wrote that sentence as if iTV is only available on Apple TV or App. I guess most Americans doesn't know there are still free to view / Air TV exist.

Me, Me. But only for special items (News, Specials, Hard to find Nordic Noir etc) and only for certain channels (BBC, Channel 4, CNN, France 24 and sometimes, Al Jazeera). Oh and Forumula One of course.

BBC HD on Sky seems bad compared to Sky Sports and BT Sport.

Is BBC any better or a higher resolution via iPlayer?

Butbutbut - isn’t everything on BBC also on iPlayer, even the Nordic Noir? I mean you can stream the channels live, even if it’s not on catch-up. I thought that was true of Channel 4 as well.

The itv hub is a bag of ****. It chucked me out of Tour de France coverage the other day just as Cav was about to win a another stage. Given all the problems and the fact it doesn’t even do HD (come on it’s 2021!) I can’t believe it’s got an average rating of 4.6 in the App Store.

As a Yankee, love when stuff like this happens in the UK, then can read posts like "damned Tories!, brexit is rubbish, Italy will beat them anyway, etc, etc" and also Queen memes and complaints about the tube. 😆

I don't have Sky, not sure what compression they use vs sky own channels. If you have the right device and big enough pipe, BBC iPlayer app streaming will do UHD on certain offerings, HLG though but a superlative feed all things considered. Their HD feeds via the app seem more than adequate but the 4k feeds really fly. They use a good bit rate for those.

When I had BT Sport directly, no issues with their feeds.

It's......
