Since using Bose Bluetooth Headphones - a once in many years investment - I came to the conclusion that a headphone jack really is obsolete.

I agree. Although, audiophiles will disagree but how many people are really willing to shell out premium cash for headphones? Whenever I see someone still using wired earphones, I just think to myself how much they would be less annoyed at that thing getting caught and unplugging from their ears while doing normal stuff if they used BT?

Still one of the stupidest decisions Apple has made

Not according to him...

Yesterday I forgot to bring my AirPods to work. This is like the third time this has happened since getting them at launch. I have nice backup wired Sony earbuds and every time I wear them I quickly become super annoyed with the freaking wires. They get tangled around my arm while typing, they get tugged slightly and pull out of my ear. I'll get up to fill my water or go to the bathroom and instead of continuing to listen to music on my MBP about 40ft away they'll pull out of my ears immediately when I stand up. Weirds me out every time because I'm so used to wireless. There's nothing wrong with using the lightning port—especially when Apple provides an adapter and lightning EarPods in the box! Sometimes it's good to rip the band-aid off so we can all move forward.

I've been using bluetooth headphones on a day-to-day basis to avoid getting tangled up in cables.

But having had the batteries run out when being out for an entire day / longer travel days, I know damn well that the headphone jack is not obsolete.

Even though I wouldn't use it on most days, there is no way I would purchase a device that doesn't have a headphone jack.

unless you've been living under a rock, OP is "pure Android" done correctly. Google with pure android is a great experience but not awesome. OP has skinned pure Android to give you a much better user experience in standby, performance, and overall battery life

Well, I guess owning an IT company is "Under a rock," because I've never heard of them. Then again, they will be gone inside of 3 years either by sale or or lack thereof.

Apple can make fun of OnePlus for copying a few smartphone design choices. OnePlus should stick to protecting consumer data and less time chirping.

Same thing was said about serial connections on laptops (Apple) and DVD removal (Apple).

Now you'd be hard pressed to find a decent laptop with either.

Seems like it might be overpriced but maybe they can get that for it.

I’m not the target market; I’d rather buy a 6S, 6S Plus or iPhone 7 if my budget were around $500.
