Scrolled though the video. It has the feel of a "mockumentary," and the empty seats at the reveal at the end only punctuate it. To think they are for real deserves and eye roll. Still not sure it's not a prank. Pretty sure they have zero room to take jabs at anyone if they are real. At the start of the video a talking head says there are no good smartphones on the market. Uh. Okey dokey.

What does the weight and thinness has to do with a headphone jack and water resistance? And iPhone's are water resistant, not waterproof...

Because those are among the supposed justifications for Apple getting rid of the jack, but it’s clear that having it doesn’t prevent a phone from being thin or water resistant.

unless you've been living under a rock, OP is "pure Android" done correctly. Google with pure android is a great experience but not awesome. OP has skinned pure Android to give you a much better user experience in standby, performance, and overall battery life
All that and still no one buys their phones.

Nice notch AND chin bezel lol.
For people still complaining that they want their headphone jack, why? Think about 10 years ahead. Are people still using it? It's really dated technology and completely wireless is the goal. And it works.

Also Magsafe. How could it have worked with the current macbook? Power is delivered by any four of the ports. I plug in my monitor that has a usb hub and I get power included all the devices in one port. Sure magsafe was awesome but I sure the hell wouldn't want an extra power port just for that.

Yesterday I forgot to bring my AirPods to work. This is like the third time this has happened since getting them at launch. I have nice backup wired Sony earbuds and every time I wear them I quickly become super annoyed with the freaking wires. They get tangled around my arm while typing, they get tugged slightly and pull out of my ear. I'll get up to fill my water or go to the bathroom and instead of continuing to listen to music on my MBP about 40ft away they'll pull out of my ears immediately when I stand up. Weirds me out every time because I'm so used to wireless. There's nothing wrong with using the lightning port—especially when Apple provides an adapter and lightning EarPods in the box! Sometimes it's good to rip the band-aid off so we can all move forward.

Agreed. These people are just the modern equivalent of people who complained about cordless phones when you could just attach a 20 foot coil and walk around a house.

The one thing you can always count on is the fact that when other companies make jokes about Apple that means that Apple has gotten into their heads big time. They are scared out of their wits at what Apple might do next. Remember the Samsung “notch” commercial showing a supposed iPhone X user with a notch in their hairline?
Yessss! It was hilarious to see Samsung mocking the notch of the X. They wish they could have huge line at their stores when a phone launches... Just as I said at the beginning of this thread.

If there was a forward movement, I might be more forgiving of not having a headphone jack. But as successive Android manufacturers prove, the iPhone hasn't gained anything over other handsets by removing the jack - it's simply lost the jack.

Exactly! Defenders of the move like to go on about progress, but a phone with no headphone jack does absolutely nothing that one with a jack does. It is literally just a missing feature that’s marketed as an improvement, and people believe it!

So let's summarize.

1) Notch (Copy)
2) "Face Unlock" (Copy, nothing like FaceID)
3) Chin (can't figure out how to fold the oled and put the controller behind it?) (Failed Copy)
4) Keynote focused on design (Copy)
5) The presenter needs a drink of water.

Just listen to how the presenter tries to speak, watch their "ads" and it's so obvious it's a cheap knockoff of Apple's template.

So sad.

Ok... so OP is not pure Android. Gotcha!

Since using Bose Bluetooth Headphones - a once in many years investment - I came to the conclusion that a headphone jack really is obsolete.

Likewise with AirPods. Gone are days of pulling a tangled mess of ear pod cord out of my pocket.

Remember, Apple always pushes toward the future and the future is wireless. They did emphasize that in their keynote. The removal of the jack was to push towards the future, it wasn't to make the phone thinner and water resistant. They did that with their Macbooks also... People were not using CDs anymore, so they took the CD-ROM off.

Haha..they poke fun at Apple’s removal of the jack and copy Apple’s unnecessary notch design at the same time.

Personally I think the headphone jack needs to stay on tablets, laptops and desktops, but I can take it or leave it on a smartphone.

That ugly notch, on the other hand, is a 100% NO for me on any phone from any company.

Yep. Like a said to someone else here, the market followed Apple on laptops when they ditched Serial ports and DVD players. It will follow them here too. That's how you can tell the followers btw, the companies that try and capitalize on people that want slowed progress...and then end up doing it anyway.

The advantage of a slower transition is that it's less of a PITA for the users who use said tech until the newer tech becomes the standard.

That said, I personally still miss the 3.5mm jack because for me it offers certain conveniences over my BT IEMs.
