Probably any design department not too dumb to realize the notch allows for more screen space, all things equal. Why would any design department be dumb enough to purposely follow apple with that stupid notch design?
Still one of the stupidest decisions Apple has made-along with getting rid of Magsafe.
You mean, like Apple? In this case Apple really wasn't the first company with a notch.Monkey see monkey do. Nice notch....
Making fun of Apple in keynotes is still a thing? At what point does it say more about the company poking fun than it does Apple?
Spoken like a true supreme level Apple fanboy...
Nobody outside these weird forums cares about the notch. It's not even a debate. Why would any design department be dumb enough to purposely follow apple with that stupid notch design?
Did you ever see the “Mac vs PC” commercials?
What does the weight and thinness has to do with a headphone jack and water resistance? And iPhone's are water resistant, not waterproof...
All that and still no one buys their phones.unless you've been living under a rock, OP is "pure Android" done correctly. Google with pure android is a great experience but not awesome. OP has skinned pure Android to give you a much better user experience in standby, performance, and overall battery life
Yesterday I forgot to bring my AirPods to work. This is like the third time this has happened since getting them at launch. I have nice backup wired Sony earbuds and every time I wear them I quickly become super annoyed with the freaking wires. They get tangled around my arm while typing, they get tugged slightly and pull out of my ear. I'll get up to fill my water or go to the bathroom and instead of continuing to listen to music on my MBP about 40ft away they'll pull out of my ears immediately when I stand up. Weirds me out every time because I'm so used to wireless. There's nothing wrong with using the lightning port—especially when Apple provides an adapter and lightning EarPods in the box! Sometimes it's good to rip the band-aid off so we can all move forward.
Yessss! It was hilarious to see Samsung mocking the notch of the X. They wish they could have huge line at their stores when a phone launches... Just as I said at the beginning of this thread. The one thing you can always count on is the fact that when other companies make jokes about Apple that means that Apple has gotten into their heads big time. They are scared out of their wits at what Apple might do next. Remember the Samsung “notch” commercial showing a supposed iPhone X user with a notch in their hairline?
If there was a forward movement, I might be more forgiving of not having a headphone jack. But as successive Android manufacturers prove, the iPhone hasn't gained anything over other handsets by removing the jack - it's simply lost the jack.

Since using Bose Bluetooth Headphones - a once in many years investment - I came to the conclusion that a headphone jack really is obsolete.
Remember, Apple always pushes toward the future and the future is wireless. They did emphasize that in their keynote. The removal of the jack was to push towards the future, it wasn't to make the phone thinner and water resistant. They did that with their Macbooks also... People were not using CDs anymore, so they took the CD-ROM off.Because those are among the supposed justifications for Apple getting rid of the jack, but it’s clear that having it doesn’t prevent a phone from being thin or water resistant.
And the corners of the app and cut. Poorly written software that has content cutted-off due to the rounded corners.Oneplus 6 "Of course it has a notch".
Yep. Like a said to someone else here, the market followed Apple on laptops when they ditched Serial ports and DVD players. It will follow them here too. That's how you can tell the followers btw, the companies that try and capitalize on people that want slowed progress...and then end up doing it anyway.
