I agree. Although, audiophiles will disagree but how many people are really willing to shell out premium cash for headphones? Whenever I see someone still using wired earphones, I just think to myself how much they would be less annoyed at that thing getting caught and unplugging from their ears while doing normal stuff if they used BT?

Not according to him...

I have a premium pair of wired earphones with Apple adapter as backup, and so far haven't had to use them once in 6 months.

I'll miss this like I miss DVD players.

Agreed, for me it was with AirPods. Work great on my Apple products and my Android phone.

Has the delay issue been solved? I know on my BT 4.X headphones if I try to watch a video, the audio lags behind the image. Has this been fixed or is it still the case?

If there was a forward movement, I might be more forgiving of not having a headphone jack. But as successive Android manufacturers prove, the iPhone hasn't gained anything over other handsets by removing the jack - it's simply lost the jack.

Would you say that about the DVD player Apple ditched and Microsoft fans made fun of too?

The market will follow. Takes a couple of years minimum, when the other manufacturers have drained the last dollar out of the clingers to old tech.

I see lot of irony here ... I own both X and oneplus 3 and waiting for oneplus 6. It's one of the best affordable android devices on the market, it's worth every penny with very good software support right behind the pixel devices. So jokes aside please.

If a joke isn't funny, is it actually a joke? Where are the jokes aimed at the lemmings like Samsung and HTC? This "joke" is 2 years too late...

Not sure about delay issue. Mac iPhone and Apple TV have never had any delay issues. My android phone even has the ability to pause when taking out one of the airpods and provide charging estimates for pods and case. I returned a OnePlus 5T because it didn't like airpods as much as my new Sony does so I will likely skip the OP6 and wait for the OP6T...

I admired OnePlus but now they're becoming the next Samsung/Google/Microsoft. The only way to advertise their products is by making fun of the most successful ones.

Apple makes more money so who is actually laughing at the end of the day.

Yes you have an 20th conection but we live in the 21st were digital wireless is progress and analog wired is retro.

Apple removed the audio conection too soon, only now that Type-C Digital Audio is being worked on and all headphones will be Type-C

The article says rain resistant, which does not necessarily mean equal to waterproof.

my bad, should have said water resistant

from their website, "Thanks to water resistance, your OnePlus 6 is well-equipped to survive a drop in the sink or a spilled glass of water. Just don’t take it for a swim."

Lack of headphone jack sucks, but OnePlus has to be the douchiest smartphone maker. They used to do sale by invitation only, just so people spam that all over Facebook groups, and that's one thing I know about them.

They can actually sell more phone than they make.
They fix their numbers and don't build anymore than that.
They have sold out of all their last three phones.
They aren't trying to be Apple.
Still, Apple beats those numbers x3.

Yesterday I forgot to bring my AirPods to work. This is like the third time this has happened since getting them at launch. I have nice backup wired Sony earbuds and every time I wear them I quickly become super annoyed with the freaking wires. They get tangled around my arm while typing, they get tugged slightly and pull out of my ear. I'll get up to fill my water or go to the bathroom and instead of continuing to listen to music on my MBP about 40ft away they'll pull out of my ears immediately when I stand up. Weirds me out every time because I'm so used to wireless. There's nothing wrong with using the lightning port—especially when Apple provides an adapter and lightning EarPods in the box! Sometimes it's good to rip the band-aid off so we can all move forward.
How about they leave it in so Bluetooth has some competition like before? There are so many things wrong with Bluetooth that need fixing. If it were so great, people would use it despite wired headphones being an option (without a dongle). But no, everyone used the jack instead of BT until it was removed, which is living proof. I'm all for removing legacy ports, but a port that the vast majority of people use is not a legacy port.

...Probably because it's cheap, reliable, easy to switch, and arguably more convenient (no charging batteries).

I am an avid runner and wireless headphones are great. However, sometimes I forget to charge my wireless headphones and on those days, when I go out for a long 2 hour run, I'm stuck with using my backup wired headphones. Being able to use the lightning adapter is acceptable but a 3.5mm jack is preferable in the event I lose or don't have my lightning adapter.

The point is, wired headphones, and therefore a 3.5mm jack, still have a place.

And the no headphone jack jokes continues... They wish they could sell as many phones as Apple...

The one thing you can always count on is the fact that when other companies make jokes about Apple that means that Apple has gotten into their heads big time. They are scared out of their wits at what Apple might do next. Remember the Samsung “notch” commercial showing a supposed iPhone X user with a notch in their hairline?

People here seem to forget this thing called "options" and believe that if Apple doesn't dictate to them exactly how to operate their lives, something is missing.

Having a headphone jack doesn't preclude users from going 100% wireless. not having a headphone jack ins exclusionary and prevents those who need/want wired from easily using wired.

None of us who use wired primarily are claiming that Apple should remove wireless access to give us a headphone jack. However, those who love wireless are literally claiming that because they love wireless, we shouldn't have the headphone jack.

it's a perfect example of certian users trying to dictate that their own needs must be the needs of everyone else
