Had to laugh on thursday in prep for my 4S I went to Rogers to pick up a micro sim. Of course they give me a hassle,"tomorrows launch day and we only have a limited number, you'll have to come back after and see if we have any blah blah blah". I said whatever I'll go to Apple. I goto the new Waterloo store and one of the staff asks if they can help me. I explain what I need cause I'm expecting the 4S tomorrow, he say no problem and goes to get it. I wait chatting with his supervisor about the new phone and the stores first big product launch. He comes back scans the sim and hands it to me. They give it to me free. Rogers charged me $0.75 for the micro sim for my iPad. I pay Rogers $400 + a month and they nickel and dime me what a douche bag organization.

Does the 4S not come with a microsim already? I figured if it was unlocked it would so you could just activate it with your carrier...

My phone has been in Calgary since Friday evening but I won't see it until tomorrow. Grrrrrr.

For those who having their phones shipping to Toronto and is currently being held in Concord.

Delivery says for Monday, been sitting in Concord since Friday. Can I expect to have it before 12pm Monday? That way I'll know if I will be home or not.

Phone had a departure scan in Portland at 12 am.. and still no arrival scan at 10:48 am.. I understand it's in transit to Richmond, B.C. (from what i see on the yahoo ups website) ... will they be ready for delivery tomorrow? there's still no delivery date... how long is it supposed to take for it to be in richmond from portland anyways.

It's probably already in Richmond, but it doesn't get scanned until they do the import scan. It will definitely be delivered tomorrow. My coworkers phone had the arrival and import scan at 7:45 am approximately and was out for delivery within the hour and delivered by 9:30 in downtown.

I have one question... I asked this in the International iPhone thread but this thread seems more apt for this question...

I just checked my order details... The product name says "iPhone 4S Black 64GB GSM-CAN"... And the product number says "MD257C/A"...

I am a bit confused here... I ordered an unlocked phone from the Canadian Apple online store... So isn't it supposed to be a world phone... CDMA and GSM combined...? Can anyone confirm whats on their proforma invoices...?

No its unlocked which means it's not attached to any carrier so you need to get a sim for which ever carrier you plan on using.

CDMA is apparently only on the carrier locked phones.

When you click through to buy the unlocked phone from apple and are on the page where you are picking the colour there is a technical specifications section you can expand that says:

UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz);
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

No CDMA. But as the other options are available around the world, depending on the network, this doesn't hurt the world-phone selling point.

I called the Apple store in Ottawa yesterday and they only had 64gb black/white left. But I read at 2pm yesterday they were sold out.

I'm on the waitlist for Rogers for a 64gb white, and my place in line just jumped by 832 units. I'm assuming they received another shipment.

Anyone else on a waitlist for Rogers? I'm #932 :p

So I can still use my 4S on Telus or Bell?

My phone has been siting in CONCORD, ON all weekend with no movement at all.....looks like still no phone for me on monday in new brunswick

Last update from ups is Portland departure scan @ 0:45, nothing after that :(. It's 2:30 p.m. PST now and still nothing. I don't even have an estimated delivery date on the ups site. Anyone else on same boat? (I'm in Kamloops BC).

Try the Yahoo UPS tracker. Mine's been stuck in Concord too, and according to the official UPS site, it's still there. However, I noticed that I now have a delivery date for tomorrow on the UPS site. When I typed my tracking number into Yahoo's tracker, it shows a hub scan in Dieppe from about an hour ago.

Sweet mine also shows it to be in dieppe now and scheduled for delivery tomorow :)

Mine got another departure scan in Louisville this morning and still says it is in transit to Mount Hope. No eta.

No delivery date for me (used to say Noon, Monday). However, Yahoo says "Oct 14, 2011 11:11 PM IN TRANSIT TO MISSISSAUGA, ON".

I hope that I get my 4S t'rrow.

Same here, it's probably delivered to Mississauga just won't get scanned until tomorrow morning when they come to work to load the trucks

The BC-bound phones have left Bellingham, Washington now. The estimated delivery says Tuesday by 10:30, but considering the only possible stop after Bellingham is the Richmond UPS facility, I'm pretty sure those in Vancouver will still get theirs tomorrow.

My spot in the Rogers line jumped from ~5500 to a little over 900 today. So I should expect it to take a few days once it ships? I'm hoping to get mine by the end of the week latest...

I would assume so too... but why would they put a Tuesday delivery ETA? I hope the phones get there tonight so they can sort it out first thing tomorrow morning and they'll arrive by 12 pm! if not, well.. that's just really stupid since they're only an hour away right now!

Scanned at UPS in my city at 2 AM and updated delivery date to Wednesday? Geez. I could walk faster to UPS than that.
