For those of you who have pre-ordered an iPhone 4S from Telus:

I just got off the phone with one of their Client Care representatives and he informed me that Telus' iPhone 4S shipments will indeed begin shipping on October 13th 2011. He didn't specify a time but he did say that they are definitely shipping on the 13th. He also mentioned that the reason why Telus customers aren't able to track their iPhones on FedEx or UPS like people from the US and even internationally is because they are not coming from China or the US. Telus' iPhone 4S shipments are coming from within a distribution centre in Canada. The last but probably most important bit of information he gave me was that the order in which the phones are delivered in is not going to happen sequentially but rather based on location. The closer you live from where ever the distribution centre is the sooner you'll receive your iPhone 4S. Obviously things like the weather, traffic, etc must be taken into consideration but he assured me that all Telus clients upgrading from existing contracts or buying into new ones will be receiving their pre-ordered iPhone 4S sometime between October 14th-18th. If you have not received your phone by that time than you should call Telus Client Care immediately.

Odd? One processing, one prep'ing for shipping

This is odd. From my order, the 16 gig white one shows prep'd, the 32 black is still in processing. This is part of the same order.
This does not give me warm fuzzes on getting both of these delivered at the same time.
Anyone else seeing this?

I have the exact same situation as you - in Vancouver B.C

iPhone 4S 64GB Black
Available: 1 - 2 Weeks
Delivers 24 Oct - 31 Oct via Standard Shipping

I'm waaay behind the rest of you folks. If yours says Delivers Oct. 14th, I envy you.:D

I am likely going to head to the Apple store Friday and then if/when I get a new iPhone, cancel my online order.

Here's a thought: I am going to head to Fido and buy a new micro-sim card tomorrow, before the madness on Friday. (I'm going from 3G to 4S here.) Just thought I'd mention my brilliant plan in case any one else might need to go to your provider and do the same! :)

Apple store will have the sim cards there, and give them away with the phones fyi. So you may not have to go through the hassle, and Fido may charge you for it.

How can Apple give sim cards away with the phones? Actually, I guess what I'm really curious about is how I can keep my same phone number (and plan price) without going directly to Fido? Fido only charged me $10 for a new sim card a couple months ago.

They have Fido/Rogers agent logins.

They keep them in stock for people buying phones and needing micro-sims. A lot of people are going to their first iPhones so they keep them in stock. The carriers give them to Apple for free. They cost the carriers near nothing so it's more of a money grab for $10.

When you get your sim and your phone, you either go online or call Fido and ask them to switch the sim card, and you just give them the number written on sim card and it is instantly switched for you.

Aha! Thanks for that valuable information. To heck with giving Fido $10 that I don't have to spend.

can i return the one i bought yesterday? but i think there would be a line up for that wont it? and can i get a free sim even if i bought it online?

If your order is prepared for shipment, you should now be able to check your shipment on UPS by the phone number reference method. Mine showed up, shipping from China and the destination is correct.Shipping method is worldwide express.

Look up your package on UPS with your order number as reference number.

My 16GB black just got shipped from Shenzhen, China

Mine's an hour ahead of yours! lol

So it shows that it is being delivered via UPS Worldwide Express...does anyone know how quickly that ships? The description says next business day or second business day for US and Europe and Asia, but Canada isn't described.

Do you have to omit the W or the last two digits in your order number?

worked for me by omitting the last 2 digits and keeping the W...

depends where you go. Went to a franchise Rogers store last year and they said no, so i went to a corporate store and got one for free. So it all depends.

Order number (minus last two digits) worked for me. I have an exception, though. :(
