There is nothing technical about it, you ordered and were advised of the delivery period. The delivery dates will be updated as and when your item is processed and assigned. Now, quit whining!

I remember the preorder thread for the retina MBP in 2012, someone created a Google doc that was being updated constantly so we could spot trends.
The upshot was that there were booking windows (ie people who booked from 8-9), spec and customer location that were deciding who got theirs dispatched.
Also, if your bank flags the purchase with you this can hold things up until they accept the transaction. This happened to me a couple of times.

is it not possible that the initial stock is coming in on two planes landing at different parts of the country or is it all imported through one hub?
It clearly seems that Apples system updates once the stock is passed into delivery systems as appose to being actually released from manufacturing?

Does anyone know if, for previous pre-orders, Apple has offered any other delivery option other than Standard? The last pre-order I did via the Online Store was iPhone 5 and can't quite remember.

If they're using Syncreon like they have in the past, they have multiple locations that could be used. But it might just all go through Hinckley before being passed to carriers.

Yeah if I picked it at 8:01. I was torn between the 3 and plumped for Black sport but few days after ordered the band seperately as I loved it at the try on. Kicking myself now.
