Please tell me you don't have a SS with black sport band?!

No it was a 42mm Stainless Steel Case with Milanese Loop.

My point is if Apple chat don't know the stop taking requests regarding the watch and why have people with later orders for the same product been told their items are shipping.

Were only human ;)

A disaster?

It has been great. I ordered within minutes and charged and preparing for dispatch like many others and will have the watch Friday. It is still Wednesday and demand was extremely high so don't be too annoyed.

8:03 was the email timestamp of my 42mm space grey order. LIke I said, If I cant order by 8:03 and expect to have a product for launch day, then something is wrong.
They have had months to get this right - its a disaster.
Pissing your customers off isnt good.
Apeasing celebrities with freebies is significantly less important then delivering your product to paying customers, and its about high time Apple realise this.

I have to agree. The ordering process through favourites on the app was great, and at the end of the day, if the supplies are that limited then only the first bunch of people are going to get this for launch day.

The only frustration for me is in the 2 week windows. If preparing for dispatch truly means it will arrive on Friday I wish they would update the orders to show this.

You have hit the nail on the head

Favourites was fine. The app wouldnt allow more than one watch per transaction however. Wasn't so good imo.

Got to say I agree a little. I ordered at 8.03 SS black sports band and yet no charge and still processing. Never had an issue like this before with any other Apple pre order. Not letting it crap on my week but still it is hard to see this as good customer care.

Seems to me that timestamps are meaning absolutely nothing in this process. I've seen 8:01 people NOT be charged and 8:20 people that have been. Seems to be luck, more than anything, very confusing. Not saying it's not wrong, btw, definitely annoying.

They do seem to have been right about order progress so far (unlike the odd random Apple Support Chats that various people have posted).

@AppleSupport_UK is an odd arrangement. Have they just set up recently? If not, then one can only assume Apple UK tolerate them, perhaps even like the fact they provide some Twitter coverage without having to tow the strict US Apple Corporate line.

100% fake. Just had a look at their timeline, some of their advice is ridiculous! Someone asked 'Can I upgrade my MacBook Pro above 10.6.8?' and their reply was 'No, you'll need to purchase a new Mac' without checking what model they had.

Some clown is bored and peddling informed guesswork as fact. #

Listen up.....

I have just had an online chat with Apple employee who have said I wont get my order until May

I had my order confirmed at 8.08am on the 10th with a delivery day of Delivery: 24/4-8/5 by Standard Shipping...

How does this work - Am I mad or is it the whole watch thing sending us mad - can anybody explain

1. Don't believe anything an Apple CSR says unless their name is Francis.

And/or

2. We have been given a delivery window within which Apple will deliver on its promises.

I think the key phrase is "the first bunch of people". We know that's not strictly true. It's 'the first bunch of people who bought specific models". I'll wager I purchased my watch faster than 80% of the people who are now preparing for shipment.

I think this is a mess. But I would do. I haven't been charged.

Mine was 08:03:00 exactly so i ordered probably 08:02:55 or something and I am sorted. What is your email timestamped by the second and have you had the charge pending?

I don't understand the appeal for men to want the Milanese loop. I don't fault you for your choice but I just see it as a female band more then anything else

I spoke again today with apple customer service about why some with later order times are getting processed earlier.

Their explanation was one of the criteria is dependent how fast your credit card company gets back to them to authorise the initial 1 pound. If that is the case it really is a lottery.

Now will we be registering for credit card companies that respond the quickest but pay the highest interest in the future?

Think it is Hokum but anything is possible in Cupertino.

This launch has been nothing short of a disaster. If you cant get up and place an order within 4 mins of the site going live and get it on launch day then something is very very wrong indeed.

You are hilarious, the ordering opened up WORLDWIDE at 08.01 am uk time, if there were a million orders per minute you could be fresh out at 5 mins past. If you went ahead and bought one with an estimated delivery of 24/4-8/5 the only YOU have built up expectation of getting it any sooner that the 8th of May. #selfentitledgate #verucasaltgate

I wasn't sure until I tried it on then loved it. I've also ordered a black sports strap which should arrive May 2016 if the current mess is anything to go by :)

Well then something is very wrong.

I have built myself up for the expectation of 24/4 because that was the date that has been advertised.

You can veruca salt reference me all you want, the fact is this launch should have been handled better.

Got to say I agree with both comments here. Its not going to change my week but it has certainly meant my productivity at work has dropped. I have spent a stupid amount of time on this forum.
I am in the same boat 8:03 SS Black sports band and I just cant get my head around that no one has had this one processed yet. Is there non in the world or are they just going on batches. There doesnt appear to be a load of logic to things.
If I had known that there was a shortage of these I would have picked a white sports band one.

He/She probably doesn't have a clue. I have had two convos with Apple people online contrdicting each other about my pre order.

It's pretty clear they had some batches pre-boxed since otherwise they could have had all models slip to the second wave at the same time so I don't see how this is a surprise. Granted, they don't seem to have done so well predicting pre-order breakdown - especially given that the favourites function gave them some info ahead of time - but I suspect that points towards recent (and possibly ongoing) manufacturing issues with leather loops, steel links, certain colour sports bands and possibly the grey/black colouring processes.

Of course, it could just be that the pallet with the SS BSBs was at the back of the pile but the fact that they don't seem to be moving much worldwide probably rules that out.

I'm also wondering if there'll be another wave of charges around 4pm, but that's just a guess.

Cough - this is getting ridiculous - If my watch is late because my bank delayed responding for a £1.00 debit then I'll be calling them.

Any Bankers here know about this????
