This whole thread is ridiculous (but funny).
Seriously...... what have Apple done wrong?
- They have launched a great product that you guys obviously want to buy
- They have allowed you to pre-order and given an accurate delivery window - and have NEVER promised a delivery on Friday
- They have not charged debit/credit cards until the item is available for dispatch
- They have allocated ALL stock to fulfil online orders, and not sent some off to Stores for people to just walk in and purchase
- They have not told a single person that their watch will be delivered late or not at all
- There is nothing to say that those who have not yet had their cards charges/order status changed that they will not get their watches on Friday - for everyone with a 24/4 - 8/5 delivery window this is now more about delivery logistics than it is stock availability
The fact that the watches sold out cannot be levelled as a criticism at Apple. Demand has outstripped supply - which was always going to be the case but that doesn't mean they could have done anything about it other than delay the release even more, or go down a US only release to start (imagine the fallout then!!!).
The only criticism that maybe could be labeled is the inconsistent way in which the online support guys are responding to queries....... but given they likely have no additional info to what we can all see ourselves online, I sense they are just trying to pacify people - but with some customers having the opposite effect.
I've been waiting for my Watch since the very day it was announced in September (even before then!). Now I have to wait even longer as I've ordered the SS Space Black (12 - 26 May) - but I am no worse off than anyone else who ordered that model, and am far better off than the people who ordered a few minutes after me and won't get their's until June/July.
