Maybe this is a stupid question but can someone tell me what 24/4-8/5 means?

This is the time I have been giving for the 42mm Space grey.

This is the time I have been giving for the 42mm Space grey.

It will be delivered from 24 April to 8 May

----------

I'm sad at all the negative comments made towards the 38mm version. :(

Me too. Although my wrist does not look good with the dimensions of the 42mm.

----------

I managed to order immediately and got my confirmation through at 0801 yet I've still got the 24-5th window. don't see how many people could have ordered before me so will hopefully get it on the 24th.

I think it's the 24-8th

Has anyone tried the Milanese loop with space grey sport? Does it look ok?

I don't think it will work imho, heres a mock up

Yes there is at least here in the UK. Here any orders online of £50 or more have free delivery. If you order the charger on it's own which costs £29 then there is a £4.95 delivery charge.

There seems to be a one off

I posted this in the "38 or 42mm?" thread, but it may be worth having here too.

-------

I've just got back from a try-on appointment at my local Apple Store.

I have ~155mm (~6") circumference wrists, with a wrist width of around 50-55mm.

I had been wanting a 42mm Apple Watch, but had been worried that it would be too big because of my small wrists.

However... it's fine! :) If anything, the 38mm looks small (to me).

I tried the 42mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Link Bracelet (no demo versions of the Space Black :( ), 42mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Milanese Loop, and 38mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Milanese Loop.

The 42mm with the Link Bracelet was great :)

The Apple guy had to take out eight links, which still left a couple more removable links on each side of the clasp, so it could have gone smaller still if needed.

It looked good. No issue with it looking too big, or dominating my arm.

I then tried the 42mm with the Milanese Loop.

The Milanese Loop *felt* great. Very light and soft.

But... My wrists put me at the bottom end of the size range for the Milanese Loop, and it really did not look right.

I had to have it as tight as it would go, which meant that the magnet end of the band came all the way round to the other side of the watch.

It just looked wrong. It made it seem untidy. It also looked too big even though the case itself was the same size as the one I wore with the Link Bracelet.

So, I then tried the 38mm with the Milanese Loop, to test both the smaller case and the shorter band.

The Milanese Loop itself on the 38mm case was the perfect size.

But... The case just looked too small, to me, despite my small wrists.

I also had a quick try with the Black Sport Band, but it was too big so must have been the M/L one rather than the S/M.

Setting aside sizing issues, the Watch itself looks great in person.

So, decision made: I'm keeping my 42mm Space Black Link pre-order.

Now to wait until June :(

I ordered a £39 strap on its own and got free delivery FYI.

My order that contains only the Apple Watch charger says otherwise. I ordered an additional Sport Band separately too and that has no delivery charge either.

Don't be. There seem to be a lot of people around who don't mind having a huge great big watch face stuck on their arm. Personally, I've never been one of those guys when it came to classic watches, and I the same applies with a smartwatch.

I want something small and relatively discreet and have 150mm wrists, so I have to believe the 38mm is right for me.

Having said that, I have a try-on appointment at 7:30pm tonight. I'll be shocked if I change my mind!

Had my appointment. Watches are smaller than they look in photos but not too small. Had a look at the silver Sport next to the Link Bracelet (which was my ideal combination) but unfortunately it doesn't look great. The Link Bracelet steel looks alright but it's a fair bit darker than the silver so I may not drop £379 on it.

It was also implied that Apple Stores will be getting launch day supply of extra straps etc so anyone with a separate strap order that's not dispatching until after the 24th should try an Apple Store.

Honestly, there doesn't feel like there's much difference in the sizes. I'm happy with my 42mm but when I was able to put them side-by-side on my wrist, I felt I'd be fine with a 38mm if that's all I could've ordered this morning.

What he said.

I personally went with the 42 and am happy with my choice but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the 38. Looks just as beautiful as the 42 in person and the difference in size doesn't look massive.

It's all about what you are most comfortable wearing and what goes best with the size of your wrist. The 38 is not a 'girls watch' as some people are calling it. It is a beautiful watch for someone who likes a smaller watch!

I have 160mm wrists. This was a 38mm Sport edition.

It will be discreet and understated.

My wrists are about 155mm, but the 38mm Stainless Steel looked smaller than that when I tried it  I actually preferred the 42mm.

I'm not sure that photos or paper templates can really be trusted.

I also think that the choice of band has an affect on the appearance of size.

Ultimately, it's all about what each person thinks looks and feels best for them :)

It may be worth noting for us here in the UK with delivery dates of 24th April to 8th May (like me) - there is a bank holiday on the 4th May, so anyone who doesn't get it before this may have a little longer to wait.

See I think that still looks pretty big. The 42mm would look huge. Either is fine if that's the look you're going for but it wouldn't be my preference. I hope the 38mm looks tiny on me.
