Waiting in line isn't all that either. I remember waiting in a line outside the O2 store a whole day for an iPhone 5 at the time and one person before me in the line, got to us and they told us they'd run out of stock and that's it. Unlucky or what!

I remember working that launch. It was mental. Not nearly as bad as the iPhone 4S one though. There was a queue down the street & loads of stock so was rushed around all day! :(

Exactly. I was 15th in line for an iPhone 3G after queueing for 4 hours, back in the day and I didn't get it. Had to wait over a week.

Since then, preorder has been the way forwards. Much less hassle.

How so?
Wishy washy two week commit windows, people placing later orders getting processes before earlier ones? How is ordering online any better?
I've never had an issue waiting in line, good thing about it is that it's actually first come first served.

I worked the 6 & 6 Plus launch. All week long we'd been telling people there's no point queuing the day before as we won't get anything in unless you reserve. Either way it definitely wouldn't be on the release date. Some guy was stood outside from 7AM & didn't check with us beforehand. I mean seriously?! Some people are too stupid. :p

Reservations are great. Were we offered any this time around?

People don't seem to understand that the problem is stock levels. Sure you may have ordered at 8:05 and someone else at 8:10. But if you've ordered the most popular model (space grey sport) and they have ordered something less popular, they're going to get theirs first because naturally the inventory is there for the less popular model which isn't the case for the most popular.

I'm in Vauxhall; agony knowing there are quite few delivery depots around here...but also doubting that the watches are at local depots yet!

Agree, but my example is of the exact same configuration watch
