Hey y'all.

Really hoping we see movement today. Don't think my nerves could take waiting until Thursday for any updates.

Does anyone think we may not get them for the 24th?

Ordered 08:03
SS with classic buckle
Paid with Lloyds debit card

Still nothing yet this morning, I would imagine we'll start to see changes later today/early tomorrow

Or the day after that huh? People have been saying "I expect to see changes..." since Sunday! lol

I am beginning to think that the UK might not see a single delivery on Friday...

I think we will, certainly the majority of the 24th'ers

I ordered an iPad very early in the morning one day and had it by 10 the next day...
didn't get any shipping notifications till after it was using the internet

Thursday? That is ridiculous and unacceptable.
I expect at the very least , less than 4 days before 'launch' for that two week window to be narrowed for better or worse. Surely Apple has its ish together by now and knows how many watches there are.. Then again, if many orders still haven't even been processed... *sigh*

I normally buy in store during an apple launch. This is my first experience preordering online, and I have hated it.

A little less of plying 'celebrities' with custom freebies and more tending to your actual customers would be nice Apple!

Is this you?

:D

Seriously, relax, it's coming.

There are far more important things to get stressed about.

Hey guys, here is what i posted in the "delivery dates 24/4-8/5" forum yesterday.......

I called to add Apple care to my order (42mm white sport) and It turns out I can't until they actually ship my watch as that's when the serial number becomes active.

I asked if he knew when we might see shipping status change. He said expect to see change around Wednesday. He confirmed that my watch will be in China and coming straight to me from the airport. Not via any hub! I'm in the UK.
Seems like they are running a pretty tight ship. He said it takes 48h from China to me. And he seemed confident that I would get mine on Friday. I ordered at 8:02 last Friday.

So ruddy excited."

Just letting you know.

And as for the chap saying it is unacceptable he hasnt got his watch 4 days before launch..... I know right!!!

Good lord... always so damn depressing reading these forums before a product launch. First things first, do you *seriously* think that making a few custom straps has affected Apple's production schedule in any noticeable fashion whatsoever? It's not as if the design teams are involved in the production process for the mass market products at this stage so the only slight impact may, note MAY, be a slight decrease in manufacturing time if they ran them through the main production lines. That said I wouldn't be at all surprised if Apple have a dedicated small scale line just for developing the initial versions so it's possible nothing was lost at all.

As for being "ridiculous and unacceptable" what a load of tosh. You ordered a product, you have a delivery window for that product that you were clearly willing to accept when you placed the order. Virtually all companies will notify you the day before any product ships to you. Apple's system sensibly links a change in status to a product moving through the shipping process. With the small size of the UK that can happen the day before launch and not cause any significant logistical issues. In fact it can save some as presumably any central storage locations are currently being patrolled by Apple's elite turtleneck security force to prevent theft. Hell I've seen deliveries from China come in less than 24 hours so long as customs doesn't hold 'em up.

Come on people, it's a four week lead time from point of order for a product seeing demand that's unprecedented in its sector. What on earth is the problem with waiting for delivery within the range you've been given? Or has society really become so self-centered that we've lost the ability to look beyond our own selfish entitlement and exercise a little patience? And before anyone says it, I've got one on order and am out of the country in the last week of the delivery window. This would suck and I'd very much like it to come earlier but if it doesn't no big deal. I'll just log on to the carrier web site and arrange redelivery for when I'm back.

Let's be reasonable here. That wasn't the same thing at all. Your iPad purchase was likely well after release! Also, this is the first time Apple has given a two week window! For reasons like this where they can say "well we did give you a two week window".

Hey gentlemen, and ladies I'm in the U.S., but knowing you guys are waiting for a word I found this.

I'm still positive they could change order status as late as Wednesday or even Thursday and get deliveries across the UK. We're simply not as massive as the U.S. And don't need the same lead time.

I got so excited when I saw this... Then realised that it's not actually an Apple twitter account. 'Users Responding Work For Apple But We Have To Say We Are NOT AFFILIATED WITH APPLE INC. IN ANYWAY'

Ima presume that, like the iOS support Twitter, it's probably run by volunteer staff, since Apple don't run an official support Twitter. With 12k followers, I'd be inclined to believe that they're giving out the most accurate info they have. Of course, they may only be working in the same assumptions that we've been making based on US orders, but the chances are they have at least some legit info.
