Wow -- lots of negativity here. Sure these are extravagant -- but they are kinda cute. If this was simply a TPU case that went on the back of an iPhone and cost $20 it would be a fun gag Christmas gift for an Apple enthusiast.

What I do NOT understand is that the article says that they have an iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max variant with "options available for storage". Try to imagine for a minute the person who would say "I definitely want one, but I am going to go with the $9990 base model so I don't waste money on extra storage that I am probably not going to use". C'mon, every one of these should have the maximum 512GB of storage at that price point.

I'm getting one for myself and one for my dog.

That reminds me of a man that lived out in China, in 2015, he purchased two of the $18,000 18K gold Apple Watch Editions for his dog. . It’s just the nature of people having an exorbitant amount money and not knowing what to do with it. It’s the world we live in.

How the hell can Caviar afford to put parts of an Apple I on this for only $9,900? If an Apple I goes for $400,000, divided by 9 phones total is is over $40,000.
For just 9 phones, and going by their turtleneck phones that had no more than perhaps a 1/4” square of fabric for each one, is could very well be some 7400 series IC that burned out and had to be replaced (they’re in sockets, and only cost a few dollars back in the day, probably a few cents now), that’s been sawn into tiny pieces. People assume it’s that green rectangle at the bottom, but, one, that doesn’t look too close to the original design, and, two, it looks exactly the same between the two phones why show. Did they cost the same square out of two different Apple I circuit boards? I’m gonna guess that’s a modern recreation (an homage to the original, if you want to be really generous), and there’s a tiny fragment of an actual chip behind it. It would be “part of an Apple I”, just like it says in the advertising, and the idiots who bought this wouldn’t know what it really was anyway.

Not a fan of this but looking at their website they actually do have some cool designs. This pandemic has restricted my spending money on travel so I occasionally have to splurge on frivolous things like this.

Um, I feel like you may have missed the point that this is absurd. This was created to draw clicks. It's worked, but it's still absurd.

It always makes me somewhat sad for humanity when this decadence is highlighted. It also annoys me when they cannot be bothered to get an English speaker to add the definite and indefinite articles to the ad copy... With so little attention to grammatical detail how could I consider spending 10 grand on their product?

$10K? I'd rather use the money to a get a new iPhone Pro with memory upgrade for the next few years. Or a new iPhone Pro and a new MBP with upgrades.

If that thing works without compromises, I would love to have one, especially if they can modify the OS where messages and contacts work. Also, I would have the Apple name replaced with something more clever. I think it looks pretty damn cool. As to the price, I'm just daydreaming so why not.

I'm here for the comments, not the news.

This answers the question "what gift do you buy for your tech millionaire friend that he can't buy for himself?"

Giving gifts to the very rich must be hard, and is a problem I wish I had.

I don't know what irritates me more, the fact they are quite literally destroying history, or using Apple products and branding in such damn ugly ways.
