Come on @MacRumors, this is a fake review.... he doesn't actually have the iPhone X. The b-roll footage is from a PR event. You will noticed he doesn't show the iPhone X in the narration shots.

I wish people don't make reviews on something they don't actually have on hand and have used for a period of time in the real world.

How is he allowed to post review while that poor girl's video was removed and his father was fired?

Simple: the difference lies in (1) the ability to follow instructions, and (2) not relying on the wisdom of a teenaged offspring.

The were allowed to show video from a PR event, they don’t have the phones yet, the stupid guy with his entitled daughter was under an NDA. Big difference. Poor girl? More like stupid naive girl with a similar parent.

I don't know why but I am not even remotely interested in upgrading from iPhone 7 Plus to X....
Maybe in like 2 years... too much money for animoji and what else.... I don't know.
It looks cool, but still.... not justifies the money for me.

I am curious about the opinions of those who do such upgrade- what is the reasoning behind you spending this amount of money?

Last year I upgraded from a 5 or 5s (can’t remember which) to the 7 plus as my old phone was on its last legs.

But I had read all the rumours and knew that this years anniversary phone was the one I was really wanting but coundnt wait, somtold myself get the 7+ this year and treat yourself again next

This is what I’m doing but the £999 is putting me off and can’t beleive they’ve kept the iPhone 7 prices the same

"Compared to "bulky" sizes of Apple's Plus line and Android smartphones"

Lmao, this year's Android phones already has bezel-less screens for much less, while we have to pay a premium for a bezel-less iphone.

I love Apple as much as the next guy but this is just pure bull-sh it.

You do not have to pay if you do not want the bull*it in your pocket.

While the screen might "spread out" to the same size as the 8+, the usable space for things like video or apps are not as large as the 8+, which many reviewers seem to be missing the point of. Since you can't show video partially obscured by the camera bump, the actual screen size is less then. It is nice that its overall a smaller size which is the one true benefit of near bezel free designs, but the belief that you are getting the same usable space is not true.

Anyways, I would like to read about real people use this thing in the real world in the near future.

The notch isnt really an issue for video. The screen has a wider aspect ratio than 16:9 so the video will have black bars on either side unless you specifically zoom the video in (cropping the top and bottom off) like apple demoed at the keynote. The default is full video view.

Its an interesting review. Other than the form factor, face unlocking (mostly) and animated poop emoji - it does what the 8 does for significantly more money. The form factor is worth some coin though - to get that big screen that fits in your pocket.

The major differences are;

- Form factor (Edge-to-Edge Display, you get a 5,8-inch display in the body of a non-Plus iPhone, more or less)
- OLED display panel instead of LCD.
- You get dual-lens camera, with optical image stabilisation on both lenses in a phone that is almost as small as the non-Plus iPhone.
- It has a much larger battery for its size compared to the non-Plus iPhone. Its almost the same size as the battery in the Plus model.
- FaceID, at the loss of TouchID
- Supposedly much better front facing camera solution due to the "Romeo and Juliet" 3D-depth camera thingy
- 3GB RAM vs 2GB (when compared to the non-Plus, the Plus also has 3GB RAM)

Minor differences;
- Steel frame instead of aluminium
- Vertical instead of horizontal camera arrangement
- Higher pixel density (who really cares at this point?)
- Unique software features that we currently don't know whether will be ported to the "non-X" models.
- Animoji

In his short time with the iPhone X, Levy said he has already "mastered the gestures" of the device and found himself trying to use them on an iPad. "My finger no longer drifts to the home button, but pathetically swipes upwards, to no avail." He further mentioned that, "now there's that awkward moment when I expect the iPad to unlock itself when the camera looks at my face."
This is key, IMO. When that happens so quickly, it means that they’ve nailed the UI.

So it’s confirmed he got fired?
Yes she posted a video saying he was let go. Really sucks. The video did nothing but shine a positive light on the phone after a bunch of other people did hands on impressions. Definitely could see some sort of punishment, but the guy wouldn't have let that happen again I bet.

Yep, reminds me of some of the fake reviews I did as an Amazon vine reviewer. Sometimes you mail it in.

I only trust videos from former Apple Engineers' daughters.

*awkward moment at home when that happened, I bet...*

Yes, but how many times does anyone get to be the first to review an Apple product in the wild?

I’m sure the teen and father learned what not to do next time.

I have a 7. I can’t do the Plus iPhones, they’re too big for me to hold and use comfortably. That means I have missed out on the best features (dual lens camera, OIS, etc.) for three cycles.

I bought the X as soon as I could because I will get a bigger screen and the best features in a form that is still usable. It was a no-brainer.

I’m speaking for most smartphone users. You can’t push your use case on millions of other people.
I didn’t realize you’ve polled most smartphone users. Good to know.

Most of us like the lock screen.

Heck, sometimes I just want to see the time.
I press the power button for that. “Most of us” is a pretty great assumption.
