I know this thread got changed to be about multitasking apps, but IMDB supports Spotlight Search (I don't know if it supports multitasking though).

Added loads more apps to the list. So many apps supporting iOS9 multitasking features are being released that it's almost impossible to keep up with.

I did notice an odd thing with the Twitter app when i open it in slide over on my iPad mini2. When i select to type a new Tweet then in still need to press 2 times in the text area to finally get the keyboard (Apple's or 3rd party) to actually start typing a text. That can't be ok.

I also wishes that you could lock the slide over and continue with working on the main screen area (not using both at once like split view). But it seems that isn't possible is it? For that you need to have split view but that isn't available on my iPad mini2.

It's still weird to me that the biggest video app of all, Youtube, is still not updated for these features. Hoping it shows up today.

I think it's going to take awhile... YouTube is not rushing to push out a SplitView or PIP update supporting iOS 9. I think a 3rd party YouTube app would be the first to create one.

YouTube is from Google you know and they also own Android.

That will probably be the case. I also hope that apps such as Infuse 3 Pro, VidOn Player and other local video apps (Dutch: Horizon Go, NPO Gemist, RTLXL, Kijk) will support PIP soon.

I am using apps that have not been updated for split screen, though I am still able to open the app, and then pull out another app to the right. It may not be optimized, though I'm able to watch a baby monitor while typing this. What additional features are missing by the apps not being updated?

The youtube app on iOS is pretty great, so I see no evidence that Google wants to diminish the experience for Apple customers. Delaying these features serves no purpose. App developers have had the code to build these functions into their app for months now.

And I just mentioned youtube, but what about Facebook, Watch ESPN, Twitch, CNN? All popular apps that still don't have these features. I just find it strange they didn't have these updates ready for the day iOS9 showed up.

Remember when Apple decided to not bundle YouTube with iOS, it took them awhile to provide an official version of their app. There were plenty of 3rd party YouTube apps, but it took Google awhile to port their app to the AppStore. Not sure the time table of when they officially came out with one... But it wasn't immediately.

Yes, I do remember that, and it was years ago. Since then Google has made sure the youtube app is very good on iOS.

I'm not denying that Google has provided a good experience with YouTube... I like their app. Supposedly Google has a redesign in place for iOS.. Not sure what's the hold up, I've read they have a paid subscription based service coming. But all I'm trying to explain... If it's not out now with the many resources Google has in order, then it's going to take awhile.

I think part of the huge delay we are seeing is because of Watch OS 2 - Apple is not approving apps that have a watch OS 2 app - that's why OmniFocus is still not out yet

I have just about slided over, split viewed everything & anything :); not so much luck with PiP am afraid, only bbciplayer as listed above so far

Is there another browser that supports this so I can have 2 web pages open ?

I noticed in the start post that besides Safari you can use use WebProtectMe Safe Browser with Parental Control by DigiTar.

Flipboard is a great way to PIP YouTube content - just add it to your Watch Later list and it works great for that!

I'm waiting for tubex developer to add pip

I just noticed this unofficial YouTube app called 'YouPlayer' by Homegrown Software Ltd in the topic start post.

Slide Over in general is ok but it lacks:
1) change the apps so the small slide over app (approx. 25% screen) with the main app (75%) with a click of a button
2) search an app
3) remove certain apps from the slide over list

The general keyboard response is very slow (Apple's keyboard or 3rd party keyboards.
When i press on new tweet button or e.g. type in a new e-mail you have to press twice in the text area before you finally see the keyboard.

In the future they should add an option to turn off apps that show in split view so you don't to scroll thru a long list of apps to open one

That would indeed be nice to have. It would also be good to have a search instead of scrolling through a long list if you want to be able to use a list of apps for slide over/split view.

I would also like to have the option to show the app which you show in slide over to switch with the app you have option in 75% of the screen just by a tap of a button.

Watch ESPN just got an update. I'm not at home to try it on my iPad though. Anyone able to check if it now offers split view or picture in picture?

EDIT: after getting home and checking the update myself, no new features were added with this update. No idea why this is taking so long.
