Curious thing: I ran an fsck routine, and got a load of lines (about 8) saying "Extension (whatever) not attached to kernel", or some such weirdness. WTF? Can't see any glitches yet, but I'm disconcerted, to say the least.

Apple didn't fix the MDD Audio bug introduced in Mac OSX 10.3.6 Panther in the Mac OSX 10.4.1 Tiger update!

Also some other Mac Users and I experienced scrollbar graphic anomalies (bits of the scrollbar will leave a trail of pieces of itself when Safari renders webpages for certain forums and websites.

Here's the link of BenchJS:

Go directly to the latest test results by clicking the appropriate button and the scrollbar trails will appear.
or
Run the test to finish and at the final results, the scrollbar will leave trail.

Hopefully you see what I mean!

Oh no... my Titanium 1Ghz still can't switch resolution or change brightness. I thought I'd just have to wait until this update for my eyes to stop burning and so I can play games with my brother again. Come on, Apple... I *can't change my screen resolution or brightness settings and it is making it hard for me to use my computer*. Sigh..

It's still making the last hidden application pop up when I log in from Login Window or from the screensaver or sleep authentication box. Really annoying. I'm amazed this bug still exists.

I still feel like I'm running a beta.

The dock contextual menu stock the dock open is fixe. For people with expose and dashboard smoother, Quartz Extrem is ON now by default, it's probably why. Everything run smooth. For those with problem with Mail plug-in, look inside this thread there's a solution.

Things I've noticed:
-Resolution independent users is working now
-dock shrinks now after a menu is brought up, but makes a weird jump
-spotlight is still kinda slow
-address book widget is broken?
-"I Get Movies" and "Bittorrent" are still broken.

mail finally works!

10.4: mail would launch and lock-up immediately requiring a force quit

10.4.1: mail actually launches AND works.

w00t.

Anyone else still pining for the ability to trust unverified SSL certificates? My friend's mail server uses one and I perpetually have to accept it when I use Mail.

Hmm. No mention of USB driver updates, or for that matter, any stability fixes. I've had 7 panics in the last 2 weeks, all with the USB driver. Clean install, yada yada. Here's hoping this update fixes that, otherwise I think I'll have to go back to Panther. :(

Quartz Extreme was enabled by default in Panther and Jaguar too. Assuming you mean Quartz 2D Extreme, it's not on for me:

$ defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver Quartz2DExtremeEnabled
0

And that's on a high-end Powerbook (Radeon 9700 video card). Posts I've read on other forums seem to agree that it's still disabled for most if not all of us...

Aha! Three restarts later, everything is back to normal. Must have been a pre-binding lag or something (grasping at straws here). Much quicker start up these days, I must say.

Quite right. I've never had any problems with OS X or any other the updates. Installing now with complete faith.
I'm so glad there are people out there willing to test software before I upgrade.

Also, I've given up on iPhoto since they did not fix the bug with the pictures turning red on every edit.

Never had that problem in iPhoto 5.x although I do wish they'd go back to the red-eye correction method that iPhoto 4.x used.

So far so good...

Expose seems smoother and spotlight seems faster, but that may not be the case. Nothing is broken, but Gratis's free sites still don't load all the time in Safari.

WHAT A DAY! My free Mac mini comes in the mail, I order the up-to-date program for it off the serial number, I open it up and there is already a drop in kit, and now this! I LOVE APPLE!
