The widget manager is quite nice, you can use it to open widgets by double clicking, no more of that stupid widget dock!

The safari scrolling is very fast now.

Hey,

Does this update fix the issues with DIVX? I heard DIVX was creating a few problems with Tiger. I've been holding of getting DIVX until these issues are sorted.

Cheers

TransparentDock appears to no longer work. My dock is no longer transparent and the app pops up a dialog indicating that it may not work. The Apply Changes button is greyed out. I've upgraded 4 machines and the same thing. :(

I had the same problem. I went to unsanity.com and downloaded Cleardock. It is free and appears to be working.

I Wonder...

I wonder if this update would have fixed my single 1.8 G5 problem. I went through two different machines that consistantly crashed under Tiger (usually Quicktime related) or crashed putting to sleep under Panter. Both machines had the same behaivor. Apple kept replacing the logic board, but I suspected a video card issue and they didn't have any more stock cards. Oh well, they just sent me a Dual 2.0 for my trouble! Sweet. Thanks Apple!

i just downloaded 10.4.2. where does one find the widget manager?
The widget manager is a widget itself. Look in the widget screen's dock thingy.

That's weird!

Obvious sign of future tight integration. Great news for my Cingular customer self, had to use use the user agent spoof option in Safari 2 to access cingular.com previously!

I've never had any problems with MyAccount in cingular.com using Safari without any special adjustments. I just paid my bill last night (or, at least I thought I did!)

Why would Apple put two functions so close to one another?

edit: Nevermind, the Dock drawer is such a frivolous design, they should scrap it all together.

Yeah, it would work, but sometimes it would bomb out right as it was processing my payment, leaving you in limbo for 24 hours until the payment posts. Spoofing MSIE 6.0 made it 100% reliable, but you're right it would essentially work with standard Safari.

I hope this fixes widgets eating massive amounts of memory. The Apple-supplied weather widget was eating 80mb of real ram yesterday, as was the weather radar widget. I couldn't figure out how I was using 700mb of real memory with only Mail and Safari open.

I'll install now, and watch what happens over the next couple of days. The widget memory leak has been my only gripe with Tiger so far.

guess what.. the iphoto bug is still there.. destroys pics still. Fantastic. The biggest bug in the lot and it's still alive.

Flash MX 2004 is still crashing on launch too. Bravo ya dumbasses.

Still didn't fix the preview bug where it ignores the "default document scale" preference. For example I have it set to 100% and it opens some pdfs and 78%.

Installed, completely froze on my PowerBook 15" 1.67GHz when it was "Finishing Installation", had to hard reset. On reset, all that comes up is my desktop wallpaper and the dock. Nothing else, and dock is unreseponsive. Piece of crap is going to make me spend my evening re-installing OS X.

FMX 2004 runs fine for me - always has.

I've had other people say that too, and I'm not sure what the issue is. I've recreated it across 5 different Macs running Flash and all crash upon app launch.

iphoto bug not being squashed is what's really pissing me off though.
