I guess I have a "gifted" mac :). I'm using Lion since DP1 and I have no issues, whatsoever. I'm just waiting for iCloud.

TIP: For those complaining about heat issues: try a SMC reset. It worked on my friend's Macbook Pro.

I second this tip. Also do a PRAM reset as well. These two resets after updates will clear up a lot of perceived issues.

Just noticed on the Apple website; iOS 5 is now being featured in the smaller tiles running along the bottom of the main promotion. Previously only the iMac, Mac Mini, OS X Lion, iCloud and iPad adverts were featured there.

Perhaps the event, and subsequent 10.7.2 release, is now finally upon us.

Won't help with the few issues I really see, like increased RAM usage. With Lion I am finding I fly into Swap in no time at all, Safari & WebProcess just suck up RAM and seems to just not release it. Plus with 8 tabs open on mostly static pages WebProcess is taking 12-20% cpu time (this is with Flash uninstalled)

...

2) The TRIM bug. I know its not a bug, but I will classify it as one. TRIM for 3rd Party SSDs *really* needs to be implemented. Were nearing 2012 and OS X still doesnt have real TRIM support for real SSD drives. The apple branded Toshiba SSD drives SUCK.

...

Good thing Apple is trying to ditch Samsung eh? /sarcasm Not looking forward to future MBAs being stuck with Toshiba crap SSDs. That said, I'm hoping for broader TRIM support as well in the event MBA SSDs suck so hard they *need* to be swapped out w/ a 3rd party brand.

it's annoying when they say "no known issues"(complete bs)

They are not testing good enough

As I always say, improved OpenGL. The current OpenGL is a joke. There is no point running mac games because they run like crap compared to their Windows counterparts.

I couldn't take 10.7.1 anymore so I downloaded the 10.7.2 beta (first time I've installed a beta point update for any OS X release). Thankfully, it fixed my greyed out audio bug, and battery life no longer sucks (2010 MBP).

Not really surprising we got another beta, even though there are "no known issues." We won't see the release of this until iCloud+iOS 5 is released in a few weeks, so Apple has extra time to continue to refine it.

Yeah, this better fix a number of the problems am having ... not a big fan of Lion right now.

One big feature needed...

Well not needed but what i think a lot of people will be looking forward to with the release of iCloud... photo-stream... which if i'm not mistaking needs to have the new iPhoto 9.2 which is still in beta. So there will have to be a release of icloud and iphoto 9.x or the media will say it was release not finished... which won't be entirely wrong but not necessarily true either. Backing up documents to iCloud is great but be honest iPhoto with photo-stream is what's going to make or break the iCloud release... :D just my 2 cents. I'm more excited about iOS 5. No offense to jailbreak developers but the new OS is very nice indeed. The only other thing I wish they added would be a way to turn off apps alas SBSettings which isn't going to happen but not a deal breaker.

WiFi issues, slow and sluggish, 10 times longer to boot than SL, cooking eggs off the processor, sluggish gestures..... runs HOT HOT HOT, after 100 clean installs..... and I' back on Snow Leopard. After upgrading to every new 10.x OS...... 10.7 is a fail. fail. fail. I really hate to say it.

this. my processor and all is fine, but it takes forever to get to a point where i can get stuff done. i use my MBP to take notes in class and it takes so long to boot up that i am considering just going back to paper.

I hope they fix that sticking cursor issue.

Funny I had none of those problems. The last few editions of the beta have had massive issues with all of those apps in terms of stability, but I expect that in a beta. Strange how there will little issues early on, and bigger ones as it gets closer to complete..

What's your point? Sounds like you're saying "anticipation of the new" breeds "dissatisfaction with the old".

P.S. I don't care if the update to the OS comes out next week or next year - the fact is, I just had the first issue with the system freezing today. Had to do a complete shut down to recover.

Try a clean-install it solved most of my issues
Definitely should try this if you're really having that many problems. I have had Lion running on 5 different Macs without any incident, including older non unibody white MacBooks. However, *all* were clean installs and have 8GB.

As usual, with every new OS released, lots of people have lots of issues.
The silent majority however has no issues. ;)

10.7.2 has had lots of development time, and presumably it will fix a lot. OTOH, it is THE iCloud release, and as usual, many users will have lots of issues. :p

I have used Lion as my primary OS ever since the GM, and have never looked back at Snow Leopard. It all works great for me. Must admit, that i did not upgrade but wiped the HD, installed the GM (you know, the "ESD"-way) and did a restore of all my data.

I love Lion.

Can't wait for 10.7.2, iOS 5 and iCloud.

Just a note to Tim Cook:
No pressure, mate. Just the whole world looking at you as you replace the best sole presenter in the world.
But, you'll do fine. We have confidence in you!

Drag and Drop for Windows users:
DRAG your peecee off your desk, and DROP it in the trash.

This Drag and Drop may be the wise thing to do but if you drop it in the trash rather than recycle it do you have to purchase carbon credits from Al Gore?

A note on topic. I'm probably like a lot of Mac Users. I do not do a lot of things at the OS system level so many of these new/lost features are not noticed here. That means other than the lost useful features & those stupid ugly gray scroll bars, I really never know that I am running Lion rather than Snow Leopard. That is when I restart without closing down all of my running apps.

This update better fix three major flaws:

1) Mission Control's horrible execution of Expose. It needs an option to UNGROUP windows when activating Mission Control, as well as an option to turn off spaces and the absolutely useless grey border and the pulling back of the wallpaper. Its the main reason why I upgraded back to Snow Leopard
Personally I adore MC. I never liked Spaces or Expose because it was cumbersome. Finally MC works the way it always should have. I'm afraid it won't go back to SL functionality.
Somebody at Apple posted somewhere once about why this won't happen. The reason is not all drives can support TRIM properly or want to. Apple can't guarantee that supporting it will work on any drive but the ones they ship.
3) Wifi connectivity problems. Nuf said.
Agreed.

Try something else then

Won't help with the few issues I really see, like increased RAM usage. With Lion I am finding I fly into Swap in no time at all, Safari & WebProcess just suck up RAM and seems to just not release it. For one then Stop Using Safari.

I heard all of this bad stuff about Safari so I've stop using it unless for a special use. Does one have the same problems with FiteFox &/or Chrome? I notice none.
