Awesome! Installed, paired with my Wii U Pro controller (http://amzn.com/B009AFLXQQ), and playing Donkey Kong Country in perfect quality .... all in about 60 seconds. I'm amazed that I didn't have to download extra plugins, etc, etc. As advertised, "it just works". Two thumbs up!

Ive just installed it on my imac with maverics, played some games like wonder boy street fighter shinobi super mario etc.
Everything works really good and i really like the interface in side the app.

Then i thought to conect the ps3 controler and .. BOOOM
Magic hah it works really well, i ve just first conected it with the usb cable without any software etc and from the in game setings i ve changed the controler to ps3 sixaxis.

Really nice thanks to the team who made the emulator.

My only hope is that they will add mame and p;aystation or dreamcast emu for crash bandicoot etc :D

Nah, I'll keep using my older emulators that have more functions. But this emulator does serve a purpose especially for people who want simple, OS X-like stuff.

Keep in mind that downloading game ROMs, unless they've been released/relicensed freely, is still software piracy, no matter how pretty the emulator is.

Game emulation is one of the glaring weaknesses of Apple's closed garden approach in iOS. I'm getting tired of seeing an app capable of emulating old systems being immediately pulled from the App store. I would much rather play these old games on my iPad or iPhone than sit down in front of my desktop or laptop to do so.

The application looks good though. This alone makes me want to get a MacMini for my living room instead of an AppleTV.

Is there a legal way to get ROM off of Game boy color cartridge? I won't break the law.

If only this was available on the iPad! =D

Edit: Where can I find/download these ROM's from? :{

Thanks for the controller recommendations folks. Might go with something like the RetroLink SNES controller.

Now let's see some screenshots of the games you're all playing! :)

I can say there is no keyboard lag for Bionic Commando (NES). I won't be removing other emulators, but this one is top notch.

My one suggestion would be to use the zipped ROM files for space saving. The other emulators can do that.

Wow! Wonderful piece of software that apparently took over 4 years to develop.

Better than Apple's choices of this years best applications!

Its beautiful

Hahaha. I've been looking forward to this release for so much of the year, and now I see that I'm terrible at most of these games I grew up with on the NES and SNES, and I'm losing interest a lot more quickly than I thought I would. Oh well. This is still really great and soooo necessary for this type of application.

deputy_doofy -- I'm dragging zip files directly to the app and they are copying to its directory still zipped. (I don't know if you're making your suggestion to the app developers, or to people using the app.)

And am I the only one who doesn't have cover art loading for most SNES games? Other systems seem to be doing fine with games added in.

I feel like its cheerleader today, but: the Retrode has an adaptor for Gameboy games.

If you're in America, you could order from here. The two items together are about $110.

I'm sure other solutions are available; this one is good because it looks to the computer like a USB storage device with the ROM image stored on it. So no special drivers, no command line incantations, no "I think I know a guy with a Mac, I'll try to find out" responses. Also the joypads just show up as standard USB joypads.

I'd love Commodore 64! There's currently no working C64 emulator for Mac!

Does the experimental version have the sega saturn? If so has anyone played it? Does it work ok? I would love to play Panzer Dragoon again.

I can't get this to work and it's really aggravating

Tells me that I can't find a library, and when I go to create one it doesn't work either :/

Anyone get this?

“OpenEmu” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

How do I get past this? Thanks

Go into your security settings, there should be something that says the same message and something along the lines of "run anyway" or "allow" or some crap like that. Click it.

Or, more quickly, you could have right clicked on the icon and selected 'open'. That would have given you another dialogue that complained about lack of signing, but you could have clicked directly there to authorise the application.
