Downloaded Mavericks after work on my 2011 MBA. Easiest OS download ever. Smooth as silk. Just checked my major apps for compatibility and only found one that doesn't work.. ACDSee Pro 3 for Mac. All my other photo suff works.. LR5 and PSE 8 with Bridge 4 so I'm in pretty good shape.
Love that the skewmorphism is gone and that there's synergy between my iPhone, iPad Mini and know my MBA.
I'm not going to upgrade my 2012 MacMini until ACDSee Pro 3 is fixed.
Thanks Apple for the free upgrade!

You know what would be awesome? If calendar's locations actually worked. No address I put in actually displays on the map and especially if I just enter the name of a place.

Is no one else having issues downloading this from the App Store?

Yes I have. Two failed download attempts. The first failed during the install and it said the file was corrupted, the second time the download failed when it was about to finish.

Now I'm downloading it through the 'updates' section instead of the 'featured' apps section.

30 mins to go so hopefully this time it works.

Is anyone else experiencing a longer than normal Shutdown and/or Stat-up/Restart times for their Macs since upgrading to Mavericks? I am also noticing a longer than normal lag with opening applications. I am running Mavericks on a 2012 Mac Mini w/ 16 GB RAM and 2.6 GHz i7 Quad Core. I have to say that the Start-up and Shutdown times while using Mountain Lion were a lot faster.

Safari, for me, is the antithesis of "snappier"

Downloaded and installed Maverick's - OS X 10.9 (13A603) - roughly 2.5 hours

First impression - cleaner look, some new stuff I don't want. Time Machine going crazy in the background.

No iWork or iLife upgrades available for me (legacy user) at this point, so those are all acting as before.

PROBLEM: Safari - hangs, stalls, doesn't open, and noticeably slower than before. I'll assume an update is in the works, currently switched to Chrome which seems fine.

GM 1 to Final release (13A603)

For all those interested you can go from GM 1 to the final release by installing it directly over the GM 1 (released 4 October). There is no loss of data or other issues that I could identify.
I also noticed that the RAM usage significantly improved over the GM 1........
:D

Updated itunes

When downloading via Purchased section and also from update section at the same time, switching to the updates section, while download an update is in progress, i see flicker between "progress" indicator.

It seems like my Pages '08 is slower and kinda buggy now, crashing whenever I save. And it's never crashed on me before, EVER (main reason I use it instead of Word). :( Also, am I the only one whose kernel task is taking a ridiculous 1.77GB of real memory?

Oh son of a gun, my Java got uninstalled. That really sucks.

Multiple Displays....

Im just hoping Mavericks will remember my 4 display's setup when i power down / up my MBP ....
Mountain Lion never did.

On Mountain Lion, everytime I power-cycled the MBP, the finder would forget how i had my Tunderbolt Display, HDMi display and the MBP ones set-up...and it would vomit the icons all over the place....

I'm hoping they've adressed this issue.

best,
SvK

Sorry if asked;

Anyone having issues where scrolling with the trackpad feels weird? Doesn't seem as fluid.

no airdrop?

So it seems Mavericks won't include airdrop from OSX to iOS. That is a shame, and absurd. Waaa. First world problems - it's true. but come on, Apple!

so what's the build number for this public release?

someone? anyone? i know a bunch of yall have installed it

Just a word of WARNING for those of you that paid for OSX Server software for Lion or Mountain Lion. It will NOT work with Mavericks. You have to BUY the UPDATE to get it to work again ($20 every year from now on, it seems since they are apparently going to charge for the update for every OSX update from now on). I own a Mac Mini Server Edition (considerably more expensive than the regular Mac Mini) and it's not free even for that model. Worse yet, the OLD server software no longer functions AT ALL so they have you by both kiwis, as it were. So much for the "free" update to Mavericks!
