I have plenty of patience. Don't presume to know anything about me. It just makes you look dumb.

That doesn't excuse the download process. Installer issues, bugs in the beta, things like that are to be expected. But when so many people attempt to download and it doesn't get more than 20-30% complete before it implodes and they repeat that process 10-50 times, then we are talking about more than patience. We are talking about a piss poor beta rollout.

Getting absolutely berserk over a digital download without any warrenties made by Apple whatsoever makes you look dumb, look back at your own posts and see what I mean.

Some users who have signed up for the Yosemite beta have encountered an error indicating their beta codes have already been used. Apple suggests that users getting that error message refresh the beta program redemption page to generate a new code.
Why the codes? Why not just let anyone download it by searching?

The new system looks beautiful!

Yep. Only some of the icons are, um, less than stellar, but not as bad as in iOS 7, so there is hope - Sir Ive is learning to make better steps in his new field of expertise. Practise, practise, practise. ;)

None. The developers already have the public release.

From what I hear is that the public beta has some features such as continuity disables in the public beta for now. The public beta ha one build number greater than DP4.

I don't know if thats true but its whats being mentioned on the Mac Developer beta forums.

"absolutely berserk" - nice hyperbole. Since I didn't do that, I'll just continue to know the difference, regardless of any "warranty".

I could see that since continuity is not a smooth as Apple wants it working with the final product. Plus iCloud was in and out during the last review due to updates.

Does anyone know why Apple defaulted to creating a "Logical Volume Group" when I created a new partition to install this? Now it seems that I can't undo this partition if I even wanted to. It also created a partition too large so I resized it, and now I have 65 GB free that I can't add back to my main one

After hours of trying, finally signed in, got the code, it's downloading and will be installed on external drive.

I'm going to have a break for a wee while.

My beta didn't even ask me if i wanted to upgrade to iCloud Drive, it juts did it... Luckily i backed up all my pages stuff id been working on otherwise id have been rather annoyed...

I've been trying to install it for the past 3 hrs but the progress bar gets half way and comes to a halt.

Boot into your Recovery partition via command + R when rebooting and then you can use Disk Utility from that to erase the Yosemite partition. You can then resize the main partition back to its full size, and then boot back into your system.

boot from a usb drive

So I can install it on an external USB drive and boot my macbook pro from that -
but some sort of key combo while booting up ?
I'm guessing ?

simple as that ?

Got my download going. I didn't even try earlier because I figured it would be crazy and frustrating and judging by some of the posts in here it seems like that was a good decision.

Well it took about 25 minutes to download, then installed, and now I'm running OS X Yosemite.

And its lovely.

Be sure to run the App Store after installation, and go to "Updates" and you will see the "Beta" of iTunes 12 in there.

My DL speeds have been pretty fast around 10-15mins, but I keep getting the error code at the end or around 5gigs. This is my 3rd re-try in downloading the Beta, luckily I'm not having to wait hours before finding out the error.
