Yay Yosemite!

Just finished D/L the image and installed 10.10. Looking good so far...a few learning moments, but is promising to be a good OS.

People are installing Beta software on their main machines?

Image

I agree, although with it being "public beta" the risk of major problems is lower (doesn't mean they won't happen)..

Kinda like all the morons who run out and install developer versions of iOS and then b!tch about all the broken stuff.

Duh.

From what I hear is that the public beta has some features such as continuity disables in the public beta for now. The public beta ha one build number greater than DP4.

I don't know if thats true but its whats being mentioned on the Mac Developer beta forums.

Continuity requires IOS 8.

Yosemite Install and First Impressions

My installation was smoother than frog's fur. Initial testing has not uncovered any problems. Installed directly over Mavericks and system seems quite responsive.

So far so good.

I am now downloading Yosemite into launchpad.

Can I let the download go unattended without it installing automatically?

Will I have the choice to install into a separate partition that I created>

Thanks

cool.

Looks like your typical iOS-y like

Looks good under Fusion .(so far)

Redeemed Code

Hi. Had the same issue. However if you go to your purchases in the apple App Store you should see Yosemite at the top of your purchase list. Hit the download button and you should be good to go.

Cheers #

Got my iTunes account registered literally seconds before the site crashed! Was not even able to get back to the page to download it. Just now could get back in to do it, 4 Hours left on the DL... FML :apple:

So every time it starts downloading for me, it gets to about a gig then says a error has occurred and tells me to retry from purchased. anybody else got this problem, suggestions?

iBank Version 5.1.1 and OSX 10.10 beta

If you are using this version of iBank you may encounter a problem trying to add a new account. Nothing happens when you try.

Same here

tried on two different computers with separate accounts....

Annnnnnd iTunes is still the only Apple app that I cannot double-click the title bar to minimize, even after updating to version 12.

Wow I had forgotten that this setting existed! (For those who wonder, it's in the Dock preferences pane) Brings me back to Window Shades days!

Finally got it. I really like it. I just wish that "Dark Mode" would do a lot more than just make the dock and menu bar dock. Mail, for example, looks horrible with Dark Mode on since you have a very white application and a very black menu bar and dock.

Wish there was a way to make apps also dark mode.

Up and running on external drive. Just fired up FCP X and it's working fine. About to test other software.

So far so good and it looks great!

I just finished the install on mine, and I'm loving it already. Safari is ... well, I won't use that word, but it's blazing fast. I really like the new look. And I like the convenient feedback icon in the dock. Now I've got to start putting the OS through its paces. Woohoo!

EDIT: Curiously, iTunes has exactly the same interface as Mavericks, down to the bubble "stoplights" at the upper left.

EDIT 2: Aha! iTunes was a separate update. But there are still some anomalies. FCPX still has the old interface, as do Motion and Compressor. I had thought that the new look would be automatically applied by the OS. I mean heck, even my old copy of Quicktime 7 has the new interface!

EDIT 3: I'm not seeing the transparency effect. All my windows are completely opaque. (And transparency hasn't been "reduced" in Accessibility). Does the transparency effect happen only on drop-down menus (the only place I slightly notice it)?
