I would love to try this out, but it seems as though Apple doesn't want me to by the way it is not allowing me to download more than a few hundred MB before stopping itself.

neat.

You guys are in for a treat ... Even the serial number is randomized :)

Running under VMWare Fusion 6.0.4 Professional full screen.

Check the purchases tab.

Pretty slow download--45 minutes here.

^ This. Check the purchases tab after redeeming the code and you will see the beta begin to download.

I've always disliked the 'purchases' tab because it isn't intuitive that this is where you go to view the status of your 'downloads'. I wish it said 'downloads' instead...

Oh well. You live and learn, I guess.

Wow I had forgotten that this setting existed! (For those who wonder, it's in the Dock preferences pane) Brings me back to Window Shades days!

I think I am the only one using this these days. For some reason I find it easier than using the yellow dot...not sure why...

Ha. I've been trying all day to get the Beta. Get an error every time.

Now, I got an email from Apple inviting me to go download it...

Good timing, Apple! :)

Anyone else have Mail running at nearly 100% CPU? I upgraded a couple hours ago, so I would think it would be calmed down by now, but it isn't.

Edit: Just closed and relaunched and it seems to have calmed down again.

Finally got it. I really like it. I just wish that "Dark Mode" would do a lot more than just make the dock and menu bar dock. Mail, for example, looks horrible with Dark Mode on since you have a very white application and a very black menu bar and dock.

Wish there was a way to make apps also dark mode.

Yeah i find dark mode looks hideous. Even the menu bar icons look bad. I'll be staying away from dark mode.

Do you see any of the Spotlight processes (mds) spiking in Activity Monitor. If so that could just mean Spotlight is indexing all your mail.

My download went ok, is now installing on external flash drive but seems to be sitting at 14 minutes remaining. Has not moved on the slider fo a while now. Should this take a long time to install on a stick?

90% fail everytime

still get "an error has occurred" at about 90%. I click download again and it happens again. Since I am unable to generate a NEW redemption code I feel stuck.

Has anyone found any tricks that fix the download error?

Download Fails

Hey guys,

I have tried who knows... lots anyways and I keep getting maybe 75% through at most (even though it suddenly will jump to 5.07 g of 5.07 g downloaded )followed by download failed. Please go to purchases to try again. I see more and more people are having success.. did you have to change anything?

Took me 2:30 painful hours to install it, but it's finally done. Installation program told me it will take another 4 minutes for 2 hours, rather bothersome experience.

Just in case anybody needs this for work (like me): MATLAB doesn't work (8.10 or R2013a)

Mine automatically downloaded. Just had to load Launchpad to view the download in progress.

Finally got mine downloaded and installed. I'm liking it a lot so far. I wish they'd do an iOS public beta as well.

under "About this Mac" , "Memory " , it says

"Your mac contains 64 memory slots, each of which accepts a 0Mhz memory module.

1 memory slot in use. 64 available."

i like it.

But this is on a Macbook Pro Retina.

Finder, side bar can now have "iCloud drive"

I have VMWare 5, and I get this message:

Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.

only version 6.x or download VMWare Technical Preview 2014

Really? Took me 20 minutes from first logging on to the Yosemite start screen.

And I have a cMBP with a 5400rpm drive!

What issues did you have installing it?

3 Machines and 3 accounts later still can't get it to download.....

I have a fast connection 300/50 and was able to download other updates/apps from the App Store

I've been trying to download it ALL DAY, starting at about 10:00 PDT this morning, and I've failed maybe close to 100 times now. I get to about 2GB downloaded, then it fails.
