Gonna wait for a while

I received the email from Apple but I guess I am going to wait for a week or so until the beta is tested well by the "Public" :D :apple::apple:

How to save Yosemite for later install?

Now that I learned I can't install this on an external drive I want to save the install package on my computer without installing it.

Is there a kind soul out there that can tell me how to do this?

I have the installer app opened but don't want to install, and don't want to quit without saving Yosemite for installation maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

Nobody prob doesn't care now, but I got an email telling me to download. lol

You guys doubted Apple and they proved you all wrong! lol

Just refresh your apple store purchases page...

Code:
cmd + R

This should make OS X Yosemite Beta 1 available for download.
Worked for me ;-)

Email?

Just got the email even though I already downloaded it hours ago. :apple:

Hmmm installed on first attempt. But Safari has changed all my "favorite booksmarks line" tabs to the one I had ages ago ? :-O How come ? So deleted links are back but the new ones I haved used for month are gone :-/

Seems pretty messy. The look is good, but everything is kind of a mess. Top menu, finder windows, safari... Like wearing pretty shoes, nice cloth and a cool cab. But where nothing is a match

What are you talking about? I just installed Yosemite to a partition on an external HD without any problems. Also the installer package does not delete itself after installation (or after you've canceled it), it's still there under programs in my main OS. So nothing to worry about!

Ok! cool!

Downloaded in 30 minuttes and installed in 30 minuttes. Worked first time and without troubles.

But uhhhh I'm not sure if it was wise :-D

iCloud Keychain not working

Before I ask my question, yes I searched this thread and others for info relating to my problem and haven't found a solution.

I installed Yosemite on a separate partition from my Mavericks install and now I'm running into an issue with iCloud keychain. I'm trying to activate my iCloud keychain in the iCloud preference pane and I can't do it. I check to activate, login with my Apple ID, put in my 4-digit code, the authorization code sent to my phone, and then nothing happens. I get an error that says

"iCloud Keychain couldn't be restored because there was a problem communicating with iCloud. Try Restoring iCloud Keychain again."

I've done this multiple times now and turned off iCloud altogether on my Yosemite install. Also, I didn't switch over to iCloud Drive, because I need my files for iOS 7 and Mavericks still. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I got it downloaded and partitioned and formatted an SDXC card with the GUID partition scheme and the proper format. But it wouldn't install to that, error was that it couldn't mount the drive for an install.

Fiddled around a bit to ensure the SDXC card was fine, and it was. I could read and write to it just fine. Yosemite just doesn't like it as a boot drive I guess.

Tomorrow I'll dig around and see if I have a USB drive I can throw it on to get a look. I'll clone the internal drive to the external and then upgrade it. That way I can check all the software I have to make sure it works good.

I am pretty sure it's a code per account. The code ties with your account, so if you use different code or different account, it just won't work. Obviously you need a dev account. Unfortunately at this time, Apple has no clue who is genuinely a developer, so everyone can get a dev account. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yosemite runs smoothly in Macbook Air 2012. I will have to play around a bit more to find bugs. What I love is the new Spotlight. It looks like the old Google Search for Mac app (which is sadly has not been updated for ages). It can do calculation directly, search for dictionary, etc. I wish it could search Wiki though.

has anybody that has gotten the error code when it only downloads about half way then fails, actually gotten it to work?

This is from Apple:apple::
"Enabling iCloud Drive
After you install the OS X Yosemite Beta, you will be asked whether you wish to upgrade your account to iCloud Drive. If you choose to upgrade your account, iCloud Documents and Data will be disabled on devices that are not running OS X Yosemite or iOS 8. iCloud Drive will be available only on other Macs using the OS X Yosemite Beta and iOS devices running iOS 8. If you want to continue using iCloud Documents and Data on devices with earlier versions of OS X and iOS, you should not upgrade your account to iCloud Drive."

Can anyone help me with a small issue I am having? I partitioned about 65 GB of space on my rMBP to install Yosemite onto, and the install went smoothly and everything booted up fine.

The issue I am having is that when I start the rMBP up and hit the option key while booting it gives me an option to boot into either the Yosemite partition or the recovery partition, but no option to boot into my Mavericks partition, can anyone tell me why this is?
