why doesn't apple support resuming downloading from breakpoint? It is stupid and annoying as f.v.c.k.

This is from Apple:apple::
"Enabling iCloud Drive
After you install the OS X Yosemite Beta, you will be asked whether you wish to upgrade your account to iCloud Drive. If you choose to upgrade your account, iCloud Documents and Data will be disabled on devices that are not running OS X Yosemite or iOS 8. iCloud Drive will be available only on other Macs using the OS X Yosemite Beta and iOS devices running iOS 8. If you want to continue using iCloud Documents and Data on devices with earlier versions of OS X and iOS, you should not upgrade your account to iCloud Drive."

Sorry I didn't clarify, but what I meant to say was that I DIDN'T upgrade my account to iCloud Drive. Unlike a lot of people in this thread, I actually read the fine print and decided to not upgrade iCloud Drive due to the fact that I'm still using Mavericks and iOS 7.

I am; however, curious as to why someone else hasn't had this Keychain issue. I know that this is a known issue in the developer notes for Preview 3 or 4, but I figured that someone would've had a workaround or something by now.

Quick question,

This Yosemite Beta will install over my current Mavericks install, correct?
What I mean is that it won't wipe any of my existing data/settings, right?

But when the first public version of Yosemite is released in the fall, will we have to perform a clean install of Yosemite? Or, do you think it will install over the beta version without wiping anything?

I have VMWare 5, and I get this message:

Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.

There's thread on hear talking about VMWare Fusion. Look like you need Fusion 6 and even then you need their technology preview aka beta.

Yes it will install over your Mavericks and not it won't wipe data/settings. I would as precautionary measure recommend you make backup of your boot drive with either Time Machine or some third party app. I use SuperDuper as my boot drive backup tool of choice.

On my 16th attempt at downloading over her win Cambodia. Stops at the 8 minute remaining spot EVERY.FREAKING.TIME.

Can anyone help me with a small issue I am having? I partitioned about 65 GB of space on my rMBP to install Yosemite onto, and the install went smoothly and everything booted up fine.

The issue I am having is that when I start the rMBP up and hit the option key while booting it gives me an option to boot into either the Yosemite partition or the recovery partition, but no option to boot into my Mavericks partition, can anyone tell me why this is?

Run disk first aid and allow it to run until it updates the boot parameters on your hard drive.

I've actually just encountered the same thing. Installed Yosemite on an external drive. I didn't enable iCloud Drive because I was still running Mavericks and iOS 7, but I did enable iCloud Keychain because I didn't think there would be any problems with it.

I guess I was wrong? Now I can't get iCloud Keychain to work on my iOS 7 iPhone or Mavericks MBP.
