Yeah, we were all surprised when Rodgers was the #1 pick in both leagues.
Typically, a QB doesn't come off the board until at least pick #7. I understand my scoring system favors QB's because it's 6pts per TD and 1pt per 20 passing yards, but it's still risky taking them in the first round. For example, in the iOS league after taking Rodgers first the "Wildcat Killers", munkees, ended up with Peyton Hillis and Ryan Matthews at RB and Mike Wallace, AJ Green, and Roy Williams at WR. If Hillis doesn't perform like he did last year then he could be in for some real trouble at RB. At WR he's got one top player in Wallace, but Green is unproven and Williams is at best a WR4 in my opinion. So, all in all, he got what could turn out to be the best fantasy QB in the game, but is that enough to make up for the lack of talent in other areas?
In this league (OSX) "Tangerine Factor", swiftaw, faired much better with Steven Jackson, Peyton Hillis, and Ryan Grant at RB and Wes Welker, Santonio Holmes, and Davone Bess at WR. He at least landed one top RB so all his hopes are not on a Hillis repeat and some would argue that Santonio Holmes is a top WR, but he's at least a WR1 on his team.
We'll all get to see how it works out as the season progresses.
