OSX Lion Up-to-Date Program

Is there a separate site/link for Canadians? I tried both links and they required American address info.

Ughh, why do I need a credit card to claim my free copy of lion? I am currently on vacation and trying to get it remotely on my iMac at home but can't... I don't get back home until the up to date program is long over. :mad:

It just gives a code doesn't it? Get your code and just download when you are home.
 
i just try to do it again in the uk and still comes up the same aint it been fixed yep let me know if any one else still having the problem in uk thanks

Does your apple id have a credit card associated with it? Mine asked for the security code.

I have 2, one I use for app purchases (no credit card attached) and one for hardware purchases.
I tried the app purchase one first, and then the hardware one second. It did ask for security code but I don't remember it.

If I can call home, get the security digits, will it give me a code to enter with any other apple ID (like my app purchasing apple id?)
 
Finally got mine to qualify. Online order, and I used the correct date or purchase (6/16).
 
same problem here... bought my macbook pro online on July 6 and I get a message saying my serial number doesn't qualify...

Now when I try to use the update page, macbook pros aren't an option in the drop down list of qualifying machines (it only lists Mac Pros and minis) 0.o Hope Apple fixes this soon!!!!

UPDATE: Website showing all of the options in the drop down menu now, but serial number still isn't recognized

You accidentally went to the Mac OS X Server Up to Date page. If you go back to the correct page, you'll see them all listed.

You're right about going to the wrong page... but I went back to the right page and it still isn't accepting my serial number... :(
 
This is ridiculous...
I just called Apple again. They said it will be up in 3 hours in canada...

Customer support is going down, down, down :(

My bad. I thought your problem was you were not home. The actual problem is you don't know the security code on your credit card?
Once you enter your credit card info for a $0.0 purchase it should give you a code. You can redeem your code when you want. Correct?
 
So are people here who took advantage of the Up-To-Date program able to download Lion on multiple machines as well?

Thanks again! Just wondering though, how does Apple control this? Isn't it easy to just grab the install file from the package contents and make a boot disc as mentioned before?

Apple doesn't bother much with piracy control. At $29, the upgrade is cheap enough that most people will buy it without thinking twice, so it really will not damage Apple's bottom line much if a few cheapos don't want to spend the $30 for the software.
 
I have tried about 20 different times to update to Lion. No dice! It says my serial is invalid everytime. Back to work for me. Slightly disappointed in Apple that they didn't think this part through.
