Going to try and answer my own question...plopped down $30 for this Seidio Innocase Active holster today in hopes that it'll fit the Commuter. I have the Seidio holster for the Surface cases, and it's just a bit too small. Hopefully this one fits the bill.

Got the case and wanted to let you guys know that it fits like a dream :) Zero wiggle and snaps perfectly in place...it's like the holster was made for the commuter.

Otterbox Commuter + Seidio Innocase Active Holster will be my winning combo until iPhone 5.

I finally got my case yesterday. As others have noted it took some fiddling to get it installed properly. However, now that it is on I find it absolutely perfect. I am very happy I waited for this case and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone !

Totally agree! I'm a case junkie and generally can find something wrong with any case, but this is the closest any case comes to being perfect. Excellent protection, not too bulky, feels great in the hand and looks stellar. I realize that saying a case is perfect is totally subjective, but I would recommend this case over any other that I've used.

Camera had trouble focusing. Sorry if there big. And trust it me, it is NOT as bulky as the pictures seem. I love it and won't be trying/getting any more cases. I've tried sliders, belkin gripvue, and griffin reveal, and the commuter is way better then all of them.

I think you just made my day. +1. Gonna buy this once I finally get my i4

can anyone provide any thoughts on the speakerphone---is there some sound loss due to the case surrounding the speakers?

Can someone post their opinion, I really like this case but I am torn betewwn this and the Seidio Active.
The active has an open bottom BUT the mute button looks real hard to get at. Thanks in advance.

Just got my commuter. Threw it on the pile with my iskin solo and "jacka type" Vaja copy from melkco. All in these three cases wil cost me as much as my vaja I am scheduled to get in 4weeks

Hate the commuter where the hard plastic meets the rubber. It is not well matched. Even after a multiple attempts. There is a burr or edge that will not set flush.

Nothing yet matches the presentation of the bumper.

Disappointed.

X2...

Just got my commuter. Ordered from Amazon on Thursday and arrived today - free shipping. One of the best quality cases I've seen, probably the best. Took 2 tries to get the rubber and plastic to line up. I was able to get it by lining installing top first and pushing phone so that both side holes are installed at the same time. I'll be getting an invisible shield for the back to protect the exposed glass. Read if you get the full kit with sides that the sides sit very flush and tight with the rubber. Will try it out and see. Overall I am very happy with this case. Go out and buy one now. :D

- Ill be returning my white incase slider i picked up last week. Loved the style but the bottom part of the case kept coming off too easy. Could've been defective. Who knows.

Has anyone used the screen protector that comes with the case. Right now I have the PowerSupport Crystal on there and the fingerprints are killing me. Is the commuter screen protector any better?

Not to offend anyone, but if the case doesn't fit perfectly flush then your particular case is either defective, or there was operator error in installation.

Whether you like the style or not is personal preference, but fit wise, this is the best case made for the I4.

I have used both the Commuter for the 3GS and now the iPhone 4 version. I will say that the iPhone 4 version does add significantly more bulk than the 3GS version (iPhone 4 and 3GS are the same thickness with their respective cases), however it is by no means hefty at all.

If you put the case on, and the rubber and plastic are not flush, you either installed it improperly or it is defective. It does take some work to get everything to fit properly but once on, everything lines up like a glove.

I have no problem recommending the case to others, however if you are looking for something that keeps the original feel of the iPhone 4, the Commuter is NOT it.

If you want slim protection in a very well manufactured high quality case that will definitely prevent your phone from damage and dust in the ports, the Commuter is it.

Karl

Ordered the Seidio Innocase Active Holster and it arrived yesterday. It does indeed fit the Commuter Case like it was made for it. Very well-made and feels organic to the case. Well worth the price in my opinion.

I had the Commuter on my 3GS for the longest time so I doubt I'll be looking for any more cases. If I feel the need to slim it down, I'll just throw on the Bumper I bought with it on Day 1.

Got my Commuter today. Love it! Flush installation first try. (Put the silicone inside the hard shell before inserting phone, learned from this thread.) Not using a screen protector, love the naked retina display. Does bulk it up a bit, which was my main concern, but it's not bad. Makes it feel "solid".

Couple questions...

Is commuter case same bulkiness as Speck candy case?

Does commuter have protection for front and back camera and flash?

CONS
4. Top left of outter case seems like it could fit a bit tighter over silicone (I seem to have a very small gap). VERY MINOR ISSUE. It could be a defect in my case, but it's so minor and I'm probably being OCD.

Anyone else notice a small gap between hard shell and silicone at the top?

I notice it too. VERY VERY small gap. I showed my wife, and she said I was crazy. I think it's due to the plug for the headphone jack. Yes, we are being OCD. I take solace in the fact that it's not just my case, and I don't need to try to install it better. It's the way it is, and I can live with that.

Well....I just spent a solid week with the Commuter while on vacation at Glacier National Park. Case was awesome and perfect for my active lifestyle. We did about 45 miles worth of day hikes in the 7 day period and the case was a dream. The weather was pretty wet and rainy for some of the time. While out hiking the phone in the case rode in a Sea to Summit neoprene pouch that I always carried my 3g in.

My free Incase Snap case from Apple arrived while I was gone. Got it today when the mail man delivered our week's worth of mail. Opened up the shipping envelope, opened up the Incase packaging, removed the Commuter, installed the Snap, removed the Snap and then re-installed the Commuter...it's a keeper. The Snap will go in the bin with the other cases for the time being.

Big thumbs up to the Commuter. Going to order the Commuter for iPad this weekend.

Steve

I just picked up my commuter from at&t and noticed that there are two slits on the inside where the hard plastic comes through, does this scratch the bezel at all?
