Well, I ordered the Red/Black OtterBox Defender from AT&T with the 25% discount. If anything is wrong with it, I can always return it.

Thanks for the link for the 25% off the AT&T store.

But is anyone else wondering why AT&T has color combos available that aren't available on the OtterBox Website? Like the Red and Black is nowhere on the OtterBox site.

That was odd to me too, but I figure they must give them exclusive colors as a contract thing. And Otterbox has many colors that aren't available elsewhere (with more to come according to their Q&A).

The two colors we wanted were only available direct.

Thats what I ended up thinking too. I wanted the Red and Black to I was glad it was on the AT&T site. Now I have to cancel the order for Green and Grey one, I ordered through the OtterBox site, in the morning.

Does it looks like the hard plastic now wraps around the silicon more for the new commuter for iPhone 4S? Or is it just me?

I stand corrected. I was looking under the iPhone 4 as oppose to the iPhone 4S and now I see the new Defenders. Very tempting for my white iPhone. I'm hoping these hits the stores such as Best Buy soon.

Yes it does for sure and that was to address two previous issues. The longer sides is to help keep the exposed bottom rubber layer more secure, it could get "flappy" before. The hard plastic layer also curves "under" the edges of the rubber layer more to address the issue of the previous hard edge being uncomfortable against the face.

Asked OB on Twitter if retail stores will be carrying these Defenders and got this tweet back:

@djransom Yes, several: RadioShack, BestBuy, AT&T and Verizon stores to name a few... some at launch & some shortly after

Otterbox Commuter and jeans pocket. Do they get stuck and attract lint?

Getting my first iPhone and therefore my first case. Was looking into the Otterbox Commuter and will be keeping it in my front pocket of my jeans. Was wondering if the material the case is made of clings to the pocket or attracts lint?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The silicon material does attract lint. Hopefully that problem will be resolved for the newer ones for 4S.

Seems like they have taken some suggestions from the users to resolve the issues regarding the "flappy-ness" of the silicon. Wish that they could include something to protect the apple logo at the back though. Or have it completely covered up.

Will probably order the new ones and try them out. Sucks that they are only shipping them out on the 10/14.

I ordered this one, definitely won't be able to wait until it comes before opening up the 4s though..

I was shopping around for this case last week. I almost bought from Amazon for the less expensice price. It was clear from the little research I did, that the Commuter didn't work properly on the white iPhone 4 and this was way before 4S info was released. Since I knew I was ordering a white iPhone 4S, I opted to pay extra for the model Otter Box says it will fit. A simple Internet search revealed coupon codes - saved me some money. I'm all about a good deal, but how ticked will you be when you have this top of the line phone with an amazing camera, but your pics are compromised because you wanted to save $12 on a case? Then you will have to go buy another case, and now you just wasted money. It was a no-brainer for me! I'm excited for my Commuter 4S to arrive!

Well, have now received all 3 of my otterboxes from ATT at a discount. They are all 3 in new design, have a protective film in back over apple logo hole but no covering for front hole or camera hole in back. But the silicone is definitely less elastic than the old otterbox design. I'm very pleased that I could get the new otterboxes at a discount 1. and 2. I have them available to put on my phones as soon as they arrive tomorrow! :)

All of the issues I personally found where ATT iPhone cases vs Verizon iPhones.

Even on otterbox.com I see a question asked if the iPhone 4S will fit in the iPhone 4 Commuter case. Otterbox replied no because the proximity sensor was moved. The commuter isn't even covered in the front other then shield. I don't buy it.

I do agree it'd be a waste of money if it didn't fit, but I didn't find any facts to back that it doesn't so I went with the $16 one.

FYI..just ordered an otterbox and they only allow to use one coupon code at a time.

I used four codes on my order last Friday...

Oh and I currently have the pink/white defender case on my iP4 and it attracts zero lint and isn't sticky at all. I love this case. That being said, I ordered the commuter for my iP4S just because I wanted to slim my phone down a tad.

Buy Two Get One Free At ATT Stores

I went to an ATT store yesterday and all cases currently have a "buy two and get a third free" offer.

The deal includes cases for iPhones other than the 4S as well as the new Otterbox cases.

It was funny... I tried to get the store to match the online price. But we couldn't find the 25% Web page. It wasn't clear whether or not the store would be able to match the online price since ATT sales associates are limited regarding what the store computers will allow them to do price-wise.

When I compared the 4S Defender case with my 3GS case it seems less "bulky." My wife decided that the new case isn't as bulky as she originally thought and she likes the color choices.

I've looked closely at all the iPhone cases designed for ultimate protection and the Otterbox is arguably the least bulky of the bunch. And only a couple of cases offer a heavy-duty clip for folks who like to attach a phone to their belt.

If you don't need much protection then there are a bunch of options that add little bulk to an iPhone. You have to give up something in order to obtain the most protection...

Here's a photo of the impactband. It has complete compatibility with the iPhone 4S.

Just got the 25% att otterbox defender case from ATT today. It came with a generic ATT white box, instead of the usual yellow Otterbox box.

I told you people that there is no difference in iphone 4 models so there was no reason you can't use your old case on the 4S phone, I knew I was not crazy... But when I get the 4S tomorrow I'll do a full review... So far the new 4S case does not fit a tight fit in the upper left corner unlike the regular iphone 4 case.. This tells me that they were rushing this out and used the same iphone 4 design and had no heads up from Apple on what the designs would be.. They just took the gamble and followed the same rumors we all followed. Im mad that the front for the sensor, camera, speaker is not protected at all.... more to come

Shame on you Otterbox..

Wow, really? You didn't notice the camera opening is bigger? They are not the same case.. there is a reason the camera hole is bigger.

The camera opening is different .... They point of the thread is to confirm that you can fit a iPhone 4 onto a iPhone 4S case... Otter claims you can't...

Actually, the point of the thread was saying that the iPhone 4S won't fit/won't work in the 4 case.

IMHO - I think the phone will "fit", but the new case was designed for a reason, with the bigger camera hole. To each their own, but I don't get why people will shell out $200 + for a phone, but must save $12 on a case? I ordered the new case, which was made with the 4S in mind, and I can't wait for it to arrive. :D

Eh, I dont get why someone would buy such a seksy phone and cover it up with such an ugly, bulky case. To each his own, huh?

Exactly - to each their own. "I" don't think the Commuter is bulky - the Defender yes. I have a CandyShell on my 3GS currently and while I prefer the phone naked, my case has saved my phone more than once. :)
