Well, would you look at that! I just received an e-mail from Apple.

As some of you might (or might not) know, I ordered on the 15th of April and received my MacBook Pro on the 3rd of May - the last day of the original delivery estimate. I had mailed Apple a few times to ask for my order (it didn't ship until the 24th of April), and they apologized and said they would be happy to discuss a gesture of goodwill when my MBP arrives. But when I received my MBP on the 3rd I thought I wouldn't bother asking for goodwill, as I did get what I was promised.

But Apple just wrote me to follow up on their promise and offered me a complimentary accessory or a refund of DKK500 (~£55). In the end I decided to get a Magic Mouse.

I'm seriously amazed at that service - they, themselves, contacted me to follow up on their promise. Amazing! I'm definitely ordering from Apple again!

Can you send me the link to the page you have used to contact Apple? Thanks;)

My MacBook Pro (15" base model with high res glossy screen) has been delivered to me in the uk, orderd on the 28th delivered today....too bad im at work for the next 2 hours so have to wait to play with it :(

Hmmm... I ordered on 29th, so therefore I should be receiving it tomorrow? :D:D:D Aha, I still haven't got a tracking number! You in UK?

I just tried looking on the American Apple Store, but couldn't find it. I'm from Denmark, so I contacted them at contactus.dk@euro.apple.com. Don't know where you're from.

Also I had emailed back and forwards with Apple before, so that might have had some effect :p However, if you feel you have had an unreasonably long waiting time for your MBP, do mail them and hear what they have to say :D

i went to the UK TNT site and put my tracking number in and it worked... mt tnt tracking widget and 'delivery status' widget are now useless?!

the tnt uk site has the destination right, however it says 'please call' under status.

is this just because it hasn't 'really' shipped yet (it only changed to shipped this morning) or is not in the country yet?

or because of the ash cloud?

or something else?

cheers

That normally means they've broken the package and they need to apologise to you.

I've now got my UPS tracking number, departed Tamworth this morning at 3am, so I'm hoping for delivery on Monday. Tried to call them to see if I could just go pick it up today, but apparently they have to make 1 delivery attempt before they let you do this...

Anyone know if that's true?

Also, for everyones reference, I ordered a CTO MBP with Applecare on 28th April... Got 'merge in GB' postage.

anyone?! :(

i tried the number given by apple (it's actually 3 numbers as it's 3 laptops) as a TNT reference number and as a consignment number... neither work.

For me it worked about an hour after I got it (Thursday 6th) and briefly after my estimated delivery also changed to the 10th (yup, Monday:) down from the 14th.

So my experience so far with TNT is certainly good.

Yes, the courier (TNT or UPS) will need a signature. As you correctly point out, its an expensive item and for Apple to cover their backs against any claims - they use a 'signed for service'.

Thanks for replying.

Can I somehow schedule the delivery then? Like ask them to come around evenings when I'm actually in?

And what happens if the customer is not in? Will TNT or UPS contact me and arrange another day for delivery or will I have to go and pick it up from their service center?

there's three seperate tracking numbers for 3 seperate macbook pro's for the office... the chances of them breaking them all? the result is the same whichever tracking no. i try!

interestingly - a mbp + applecare i ordered for a buddy (in the UK) about a week after i ordered mine is being dispatched with a different courier!!!

it says the MBP is shipped via Kuhne & Nagel Spedition s.a.r, and the applecare shipped via Syncreon Technology.

What is going on?!

My status on Apple finally updated! The assigned carrier is ÜK distribution centre"? What is that? The delivery reference number is also the same as the carrier tracking number.

It just means that it has arrived at the Distribution Centre in the UK and is waiting to be picked up by either UPS or TNT. You should be assigned a carrier within a few hours :)

I see... any chance it will be updated during the weekend?

I would not say it's likely, but it definitely could. Mine got picked up on a Friday, but I didn't receive any updates during the weekend. On Monday, however, it had arrived in my country (Denmark) and went out for delivery the same day. So if you're lucky you could have it on Monday.

Mine was despatched from Tamworth (about 5 hours away) yesterday, and it's still in Limbo having failed to arrive anywhere. I'm guessing it's sitting waiting to be checked in at my local depot.

My 15" CTO (HR Anti-Glare) 2.4Ghz i5 was ordered on Tuesday 4th May, shipped from Shanghai on Thursday 6th May, delivered to me in UK on Monday 10th May.

6 days from order to deliver is pretty good!

Where are you from? And which is your reseller ?

I sent an email to Apple sunday and they answered me that they could do nothing because APR have not the same orders process and they work with a wholesaler...

I will call them tomorrow and say that if by friday I don't have my MBP then I would want my money back, or they give me a real deadline!!

I ordered my AntiGlare 17" i5 MacBook Pro yesterday (Monday). When can I realistically expect it to arrive? Apple's page states 18th-19th May. Is this realistic?
