Don't worry, you're not alone. I ordered 4:30 PM GMT on Thursday the 15th and my order is also listed as "Not yet shipped". Apple Support told me it was scheduled to be shipped on Monday the 19th, but because of the vulcanic activity, it wasn't. Hopefully something will happen soon as the airspace is open again - I'm DYING to have my MacBook Pro shipped!

Damn vulcans.

my wife's dell crashed 4 weeks back... waited till 13th to see some updates from apple, it was some "wait" and some "update" really ... thought the battle was over

now, back to updating the tracker page and waiting for the page to reload :(

are we sure to see progress atleast by tomorrow?

Hi guys,

Been following this thread all the way through and followed the Arrandale thread before but only just decided to sign up.

I'm in the same position as a lot of you guys, waiting for my CTO 13" MBP. Ordered a couple of hours after the store came back up last tuesday. My original delivery date from UPS was monday 19th.

Looking at the tracking details posted above by takayama and the tracking details in the links posted by AppleFusion it seems to me that we are either waiting for another departure scan from Shanghai or an arrival scan at Incheon.

If you look at the timings of these scans in the posts quoted it looks like, if they are to be shipped tonight, that we can expect a departure scan from Shanghai between 5 and 6am their time; so between 10 and 11pm tonight UK time (or 11 and 12 European time).

If we don't get another departure scan then the arrival scan at Incheon should be at around 7.30 to 8.30am Korea time; so UK 11.30pm-12.30am and EU 12.30 to 1.30am.

Of course all of this assumes that they are flying at their standard times and on their standard routes, and that our MBPs are actually in China and not somewhere else outside of UPS's normal network so haven't yet been scanned.

Fingers crossed for tonight! If they don't go tonight then I guess its going to be another 24h before they might move!

Cheers,
Jay

If there is some work done in Europe then the price of your dear MBP will be higher and you would probably compain in another thread about that price.

Don't you realise that there were really some extraordinary condistions which just delayed your delivery a bit ? There is not all the time someone to blame.

I'm not blaming Apple for the volcano. But the fact is I've always had to order CTOs from the Apple online store because I couldn't get them in local Apple store. They already offer RAM upgrades in-store so why not hard drive upgrades too?

And the communications has always been poor (just look at how they happily state a 'Ships in x to y days' on their site but hide just how long the shipping itself takes). I bet the number of orders placed through their site would go down if people knew just how long shipping takes even in the usual time frames. Add to that poor / delayed / confusing tracking information (hell, if it wasn't confusing then this thread would probably be half the number of pages).

I'm not blaming, I'm saying it could be better - there's room for improvement here for us Europeans.

A large part of this thread has been misunderstandings related to the UPS tracker statuses. I really think that UPS need to add a higher level of abstraction over the raw status updates as most people get confused about the true meaning of each status. They should perhaps consider condensing the feed to the important bits that people really want to know - when something's been received, about to ship, in the air, etc.

Nobody is sure of anything, UPS are keeping their cards close to their chest and refusing to make any commitments.

sure, no one to be blamed...but, i guess we are living in an age where a bit more information on UPS tracker page is quite possible...

I'm not making excuses for UPS… Fair shout to them, I can't begin to imagine the vast numbers or consignments they move around the world on a daily basis, let alone begin to guess what their backlog might look like after the last week – but you are right, they could've been a lot more communicative during the process.

I've all but given up on caring now, when it turns up, it turns up; and until then I'm stuck working from my aging 13" MacBook (and iPad :-D).

EDIT: Oh wait, I just checked the US order-site and mine is listed as "Prepared to ship" there aswell, however still "not yet shipped" on the UK site. Weird.

Thanks!!, thats good news!!, i hope my status changues in a few hours/tomorrow (i think in china are sleeping now :)).......

btw its better to check US Store, i've read others saying that their status changed in the US Store before it does in your local country store.

Thing is, while I agree UPS' tracking info could be better, 99.9% of the time this info would suffice. It's just now that when a wholly unexpected event like a volcano eruption disrupts everything that their system comes under more scrutiny. Hopefully they'll learn lessons from this and if it happens again then they'll have better information provided for future customers. Silver lining and all that! :)

Mine still says 22/04/2010 you guys think it's still possible? :p

i doubt it.. but o well

No way. I'm on the idea that it will be on my hands not sooner than next monday :mad:

Yup, Monday/Tuesday I'm expecting too. It's a bummer but hey-ho.

No, wait. Optimism time. I can hear an engine outside. Is it a UPS worker on a night shift delivering my MBP and complimentary Cinema Display?! *foams from mouth*

Yeah, I used to like the golden colour, but thanks to all this delay, the gold colour (the one used to notificate exceptions AKA unknown delivery dates by the widget) is awful for me...:mad::mad::mad:

err, isn't the gold colour just UPS? I didn't think exceptions had a different colour, I just thought UPS's colours were brown and gold.

Ooops, maybe you're right, maybe given the time I watch this thing without a delivery day on the left, I'm getting mad :p :-S

hate hate hate hate iceland, volcanoes, apple, ups, china, germany... :p :p :p
