Our MBP is stranded in ShangHai thread [UK/Eu]

Lucky you!! I am still waiting for my 15" and might even consider changing to a 17" after hearing good reviews of it, which means EVEN LONGER WAIT... :( :( :(
 
I find it very annoying that there are 3 people on the last page alone with a later date for "Billing information received" & "Origin Scan" than me, that are already on their way. Not that I'm not happy for them, it is just that I feel a little screwed over.

I demand an explanation from UPS. I think I'm gonna write them an email - not that they care - but maybe it makes me feel better. :eek:

I phoned UPS and spoke with a manager, within 2 hours i had movement. So i would give that a try
 
Hey peeps

Quick update. Im in the uk.

Order 15" hi res i7 2.66 10 mins after the apple store repoened on 13th April ( with a sleeve )

Shipped on 16th.

Received invoice etc 2 days later.

Items say shipped on apple order status, with delivery date 5th may!

Emailed apple, then phoned back in 5 MINS, so say it should be with me 3rd May :(

THEN i get an email 3 hours later, to say sorry and they laptop should be here this week! Its been a roller coaster ride, but i feel that it isnt finished yet!

I've just got off the phone with UPS, completely useless. My package was sitting in Cologne since Thursday, with a lame "ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS" excuse. According to the slightly more senior person than the call centre girl (I couldn't get any sense out of her and asked to talk to a supervisor, which took 3 attempts!), they have no idea when or by which flight the packages will go to the UK.

She suggested that we might see an export scan early Sunday, it will then fly to the UK (refused to give any details of the destination airport due to "security") on Monday and be delivered on Tuesday, but that's just an estimate and with the backlog of 6 days UPS can't guarantee anything.

I'm thinking of cancelling mine and getting one from the store if it doesn't move by Monday morning.

I just called my local depot and they said they don't get any deliveries from the airport mine is stuck at until monday so I can't pick it up today like I wanted to! :(

That will be a full 13 days I have been waiting for my MBP by then. This is crap. Just to make myself feel slightly more hard done by what is the latest anyone has ordered one and now has it in cologne or in shanghai ready for departure (past clearance)?
 
Ordered on 21st. CTO 13'' MBP

Just changed to "prepared for shippment" this morning. Didn't expect they do that on a Saturday :D

So being optimism, it will catch the flight tomorrow and be here on Monday.

to Germany, btw. I only changed a keyboard.

Wow, they liked yours so much that they scanned it thrice. I only had two scans, and no export scan yet. Still, UPS say Monday so I'm happy :D

At least yours is in Germany. After 13 days mine is still in Shanghai with a Natural Disaster status :(

Ok I also got the Import Scan and I got the 26th April.
If its going to Be shipped by a truck or something then thats ok because for this Sunday they've made an exception for the trucks.

BTW i just updated to iPhone OS 3 :> and the copy and paste is gorgeous!

I hope to get mine on Monday as well. I updated to OS3 last year. :eek:

@AD4M, good one! Why don't you refresh once more and hope it will have an arrival scan in EMA? :p
 
Ordered my 17" i5 7200 anti glare on 15th . Recieved email this morningsaying it's shipped :-D although says delivery 10th may :(

Hey sweet, I am planning to get the 17" after good reviews of it in this forum. Please do let me know how it goes once you got it alright! My early-2008 base MBP was replaced with a base model MBP which I am not really satisfied with. However, I think I have the chance to upgrade to 17" considering that I need the ExpressCard slot BADLY (acting dumb)! - Just that it's bulkier than the 15" being my main concern but hey, the resolution and specs are great aint it! :)

I hope its only the resolution, the express slot, the bigger display (for some) and the extra USB which is better then the 15" or maybe I missed something?

What??? I ordered a 13 base on the 20th... And it still hasn't changed status..

When did yours change status? .. Mine is a merge in transit which is annoying

I have also noticed some people have received arrival scans?
