I'm in the same boat. :) Or should I say, plane.

MBP 13, bought on the 16th with an expected arrival of the 4-5th of May.

Status finally updated to shipped today on the 24th, with an updated expected arrival date of the 11th of May!

:(

"When any real progress is made, we unlearn and learn anew what we thought we knew before."

I'm sure it will arrive sooner. I ordered mine on the same day (13") and it said shipped on 17th, and i have expected 4-5th delivery yet I have heard no news whatsoever about it

Got these two in the last week. I haven't really read through this thread so apologies if it has already been mentioned :D. What really sucks is if I don't get my MBP before tuesday. I have a graphic design exam starting! Lol.

Oh the humanity!
edit: How do you people find out all this shipping information?

All I can see when I click order status is this, after clicking 'track shipment'.

double edit : Oh NOES, you knows my name :D

Hey, I have the exact same info. Let's hope these babies move soon...

anyone want to help me? (my original post is 4-6 posts up)
Your order is "merge in transit" which means the machine is being sent to the distribution centre (as part of a larger shipment with other customers' machines) to be combined with other items before the whole shipment is sent on to you. Therefore you won't have detailed tracking information until it is "merged" and sent on to you.

Those of us who just ordered the machine got a direct individual tracking number as soon as it left the factory in China.

This is why Apple is sending you those updates - because you can't just check yourself (the Apple site says my MBP which I am still waiting for will arrive on the 19th still!).

You will have to wait for you order to be merged before Apple give you a tracking number. At the moment your order is being sent to Apple not you and so all they will do is tell you that it has been shipped until they get it and add the other parts of your order together and then ship it to you. If you want to get a rough idea where it is then find someone else on this thread that only ordered the MBP without extras and who has posted the status they are currently at. I'm not going to look for you if you can do it yourself.

Edit: Just re-read the order status screenshot and it suggests (maybe incorrectly) that your order has already been merged and it is awaiting pickup by UPS/TNT and assignment of a tracking number. You should get one in less than 24 hours of seeing that screenshot I would have thought.

Same for me. Its at the airport less than 70 miles away, yet I must wait until Monday :(

I just emailed Apple 'suggesting' (not complaining ;)) that they give customers a better delivery service (not UPS) as standard and if not then allow customers to pay more for a better one. Seeing that UPS SAVER every time I refresh that tracking report is a bit saddening. My £2200 MBP is being sent as cheaply and as slowly as they like. If they did saturday delivery I may have put up with it.

I'm not bitter though lol

If you have ordered something that has to be merged with the computer, have to wait for that happen before you find out anything else... i think.

EDIT: Seemed a lot of people beat me to it

You don't seem to have tracking info yet. Someone correct me but I think if you order multiple items then you cannot track them until they are merged in transit in the netherlands.

Cheers for all the help! My estimated delivery date is the 26-27th (which I assume is the estimated delivery date by the carrier) and then there's the ETA by apple of the 5th.

I think.

Anyway :) thanks again!

edit : It's quite annoying how I specified on the phone call (when I ordered) that I wanted everything bar the MBP to be associated with one order, and the MBP in another on its own. I did this so as to receive the MBP ASAP. They did do this, which leaves me to wonder how I am being put into the distribution wagon. Is it the applecare or the remote control that is causing this? any ideas?

Any idea why the US Tracking site is giving me "Prepared for Shipping" whilst the UK sight is still displaying "Not Yet Shipped" ?

Weird that they're not in sync..

Let me try and assuage your non-existent bitterness by pointing out that "UPS SAVER" isn't as bad as it sounds...

From what I can tell from the UPS site, the only thing "Saver" means is they don't have to deliver it early in the day, so in terms of days it should be no slower than "Express" or "Express Plus". Clearly it's not worth using "Express Critical" and I don't think any of us would want to pay for that, and I certainly wouldn't want to pay extra to receive it before 9am vs. in the afternoon the same day.

In contrast "Worldwide Expedited" and "Standard" might sound better than "Saver" but are actually worse services.

I do find some of the things UPS have said during the outage (like "full contingency plan in operation") frustrating when what they were actually doing was precisely nothing in our case! Similarly from what I can tell they have done nothing particularly special since the ban was lifted to clear the backlog more quickly - no extra planes from China for example which would certainly have helped those whose macs have been ready to go since Tuesday and are STILL stuck in Shanghai. The only thing they seem to have done differently is send some shipments the other way round the world via the US and I think the jury is out on whether that has helped.

My "Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change)" has just changed from 4th May to 11th May .... WTF??

Has the volcano erupted again or something?

So do you think we should at least be given the choice of carrier?

Apple is one of the few online shops that you don't have a choice on. I would have preferred DHL; every previous shipment I've had with them has been amazingly fast and the tracking system is a lot better (I'm sure most people on this thread would prefer a less ambiguous and more detailed tracking system). Then again Apple chose UPS for a reason and I doubt it was just financial.

I don't know how DHL would have dealt with this situation so I can't exactly say that they would have got it to me sooner, but at least they have saturday delivery and I could have picked it up from the depot.
