This is what the EU gets for attacking American innovation, smarts and good business practices. Sue Microsoft, sue AAPL, how many European designed computers are for sale in the world? In fact what has the EU given anyone in the last 20 years. All they are good for is formulating rules on cheese, let them eat cake. I hope they have to wait until 2011 for an iPad.

The reason for Apple's existence sonny: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASML_Holding

Cough *Echelon*... Perhaps you would like to rephrase the part about 'good business practices'

You do realise that your post is an act of libel?
Apple would be well within their rights to sue you for defamation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation

Defamation—also called calumny, vilification, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually, but not always,[1] a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (the claimant).

Apple, although brilliant in many ways, also do sometimes suck. They over-charge and under-deliver. Jobs is a control freak who only cares about squeezing the last penny out of the consumer.

Just my opinion. I hope I haven't broken any laws...

Okay why is this thread even 18 pages? I understand it sucks that the ipad was delayed. But get over it! You will get it when you get it.

Mean while you can always buy one from ebay or hop on the redeye and come over here to the states.

Keep in mind here in the US we often have to wait for new products as well that come from japan and europe. So be patient and you will get it. But either way playing the violin and asking for cheese with your respective whine is not going to change a thing:D

European designed computers? Ha ha. Try the iMac.

I'm betting you're one of the infamous 82% of Americans that don't have a passport yes? Nature's quarantine.

I hope you wait until 2011 for a bowel movement.

So you are saying Europeans must leave Europe to create innovative designs? Must be why you have all them there Passport thingers.

Even as one of those pesky Europeans, I also find the whining a bit odd. Let's not forget how long we had to wait for the original iPhone. Personally I don't give a rat's ass - the delay just means more time for the 'early adopter lust' to dissipate. It's just a consumer toy after all. See, it's already dissipated for me ;)

anyone else getting fatigued waiting for the iPad 3G

I ordered the iPad 3G 64GB on March 12th, and my excitement levels were through the roof. Now after the ipad wifi launch, reading all the reviews, listening to all the podcasts, and waiting waiting waiting...I kind of feel like I don't care anymore. Dare I say I'm feeling like I almost regret dropping $900 on an iPad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'll love it, and the day it finally ships my attitude might completely change, but at the present moment, I'm loosing interest. It's April 14th, and we still don't even have a delivery date.

Because MS are a monopoly!

Pot meet kettle. Microsoft is not a monopoly and you are giving them a negative image.

Here's a hilarious comment from a Neowin member (bad grammar included), which is quite telling about what's really eating away at the anti-iPad crowd:

iPad is simply annoying, it shouldn't be this much popular.

"It shouldn't be this popular."

It's anger, folks. Even more so than envy or frustration. Anger that Apple can get away with limiting choices in a closed environment and end up rocking the tech world. Again.

Now from late April changed to Late May!!

I'm not getting into a war over which continent has the greatest designers, inventors, thinkers etc. Historically, you'll lose. Badly.

Ive was a rarity. Went over during one of the numerous brain drains. $$$ spoke. But let's not forget his talent lay unrecognised for years at Apple, and he famously had his resignation ready in his back pocket when Jobs first requested that meeting.

What bad WiFi?

LOL. Maybe if you left the bathroom occasionally, you would have seen articles like "Apple shrugs to iPad Wi-Fi problems," from the Register:

"Apple has admitted that its iPad isn't very good at Wi-Fi, and suggests that customers having problems move nearer to their hotspot to get a signal."

Well if anyone ever doubted that Apple doesn't give a toss about anything other than it's US market, here's the proof.

This might be their Achilles heel one day (although I doubt it).

Screw you, Steve.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you meant it actually had an effect on sales or that it was so widespread there would be an uproar.

Misunderstood. My bad.

Europeans have contributed greatly to technology, there is no question about that. Unfortunately it has been difficult over the past 20 years for European companies to release any really innovative technology products. We can agree it is not the people, so why then are the overwhelming majority of technology products with global appeal being released by American companies. The designers are often Europeans, Asians, and Indians working for American companies.

My guess would be there remains a higher risk aversion in European companies. To release a significant consumer electronic device globally requires an enormous risk of capital (Which the Europeans have more of than the Americans) and a willingness to let it all go down the drain (Which the Europeans do not have).

Hmmm. Cliff is actually the only guy on the board that I have marked as a buddy. He is very reasonable and has a good sense of humor. And I'm a European. And I'm pretty sure that Cliff agrees that just as many tools live in the US as in Europe... And I don't mean percentage wise :D:D:D

Oh, yes. As I pointed out, nearly half the U.S., by population, are tools. If you fly from NY to California, nearly 70% of your time aloft is spent flying over what we call "tool country." Remember, this is a nation that invented a sandwich consisting of two pieces of fried chicken instead of bread, with cheese and ham in between. Tools-a-plenty.

We're told if we leave the country we have to pay to use the airplane bathrooms, so we'd rather stay here and enjoy our delicious chicken-ham-cheese sandwiches.

I bet you are one of those lazy communist Europeans who thinks they have government supported health care.

I hope you get the hiccups so bad your ears get sucked into your brain.
