It happened to me. Would reboot, show the Apple logo, then red screen, then reboot again. Had to take it to the Apple Store and the tech said it was a hardware defect.
That picture shows very expenive, if pretty, building material.

Could they have been using the 16 or 64GB models sporting MLCs? The article didn't seem to mention which models was tested?
I'd agree that most users wouldn't be able to tell the difference in performance but cutting corners on a premium product is just bad taste. Like Porsche swapping out the Michelin tires on their Cayenne Turbo with $69.99 Nexens cos most suburban drivers wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
That joke went right over your head.
I Have a problem with my iPhone 6 (64 GB) using the Music App. I have iTunes Match and "show all files" turned off, so I see only Tracks stored on the device. But after skipping a few tracks, the Music App won't play the song (even if the song worked recently) but otherwise act normal (you can press Play/Pause or skip the tracks; but the songs just don't start).. restarting the App won't help but sometimes waiting around 2 minutes or rebooting the iPhone let's me play the songs. Maybe a Software Bug? I experienced it since updating to iOS 8.1
This is normal with iTunes Match and has been the case for me since I've had it. Even on iOS 7. It's good when it works but it still has some serious bugs with automatically skipping or not playing songs that are actually stored on the device. Sometimes I even get stutters or hangups with it trying to buffer a track that is already downloaded to the device and occasionally have to toggle airplane mode on/off to force it to play the song.
So itll be fine when Android use this excuse right?
What is a "large app library"? I read something about this last week and they said it was happening when people had over 700 apps installed. I have a 6plus 128GB and I haven't had any issues, but I don't have anywhere near 700 apps installed.
The problem with TLC in a phone isn't so much performance as it is endurance. Apple recently bought an Israeli company specialized in NAND error correction, probably for the use of cheap TLC NAND in their premium devices. But even with the best error correction and wear leveling, TLC has a shorter lifespan than MLC.
Also, I'd guess TLC is only in the 128 GB models due to performance. By interleaving the 128 GB of TLC NAND they can probably match or exceed the performance of MLC NAND in tiny amounts like 16 GB.
This is pure speculation, but maybe the issue is with Apple's new NAND controller using the specialized error correction developed by that Israeli company. For all we know, this is Apple's first attempt at an in house NAND controller, or at least their first attempt at a more complex NAND controller. Just thinking out loud here - we don't even know yet that the rebootloop is a hardware issue.

Yup, that'll be me. Blue screen and also a red screen after many restores. My 6+ restarts itself at least everyday so I would have to add my password in after a restart. Booked in to the Genius bar Thursday.
Here is my post about it

Well, what else can we expect from Korean news site that is probably heavily sponsored by Samsunghttp://9to5mac.com/2014/11/04/debunk-128gb-iphone-6-plus-recall-false-crashing-bug-rare/
Once again, an "issue" blown out of proportion because it's Apple.
It is a non issue because there is no credible evidence of a design failure here.
That's the same exact thing people said when iPhone 6+'s where reported to bend easily.I have 6 Plus 64GB and it's been working great, 8.1 working fine.
I don't doubt this has happened to some, but it seems to be a very small amount.
My only question is, how long do you put off going to the Genius Bar after experiencing this, or any other problem??? It always seems that some people complain about an issue, yet have not been the to Genius Bar.
The people who did go to Genius Bar got their phones replaced. So it sounds like a hardware issue, that's effecting a small amount of people and Apple is taking of it.![]()
